The Golden Ball Pub and Kitchen — Restaurant in England

A wonderful kind friendly welcome from our host Chelsea. We were created with if Seconds of arriving. The pub was lovely and clean. We visited on a Friday evening around 1900, we expected it to be very busy but it was great! It got busy at 1930 yet the staff were able to serve and seat everyone. The staff kept smiling and asking us if everything was ok. Everything was perfect. We only waited around 8-10 mins for our food! The food was absolutely wonderful! I had the Fish which was very fresh with lovely chips and the tartar sauce even had caviar on the top to garnish. My partner had Asian pulled beef rib burger. The meat simply melted it was so well cooked! Everything on both our plates had great flavour and portion size was just right.

I used the washroom facilities and with it being a Friday I expected them not to be clean but they were clean and smelled fresh. There is a lovely outdoor seating area with heaters. The patio was very clean and also very tidy. Inside there were lots of real candles giving the place a lovely cozy feeling. The pub is also puppy dog friendly both inside and out.

Five stars simply aren't enough to capture the magic of our experience at The Golden Ball! We were welcomed with open arms, making it the perfect setting for a large family gathering to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. The staff were exceptional – attentive, friendly, and ensured everything flowed seamlessly throughout the evening.

But the true star of the show was the food! Sensational doesn't even begin to describe it. Every dish we ordered was an explosion of flavour , beautifully presented on the plate. Fresh, top-quality ingredients were evident in every bite, a testament to the chef's remarkable talent. We sampled a variety of dishes, catering to different tastes, and everyone raved about their choices.

My mum, in particular, felt incredibly special throughout the night. The staff went the extra mile to acknowledge her birthday in a thoughtful way, adding a personal touch that truly made the afternoon. The Golden Ball provided the perfect ambiance for a family celebration, and helped make my mum's 60th a truly unforgettable occasion!

Went here for a light lunch today. Firstly, the front of house service were polite and the ingredients used in the food was of good quality. However, I found a small piece of plastic in my pea soup, which I bit into to my displeasure. When making front of house aware of this, I was told that the soup was stored in one of their cheaper containers which easily broke away and not one of their newer ones. Well in that case, why were they still using these containers when knowing the risk of plastic braking off and falling into food? Although, they refunded the cost of the soup we realised that the final bill still overcharged us £15 for extra hot drinks that we never even ordered. Could quite easily have paid for this if it weren't for my eagle eyed son who spotted the mistake. Also, we didn't take leftovers from the other soup we ordered because of my poor experience. Finally, I noticed that they didn't take off their service charge from our final bill, which I've been told should be taken off as standard when finding foreign objects in food, especially from a restaurant that prices itself at the premium end of the market.
