An impromptu visit to the coffee shop today! We were looking for a local cafe to meet up and found this hidden gem! It was very busy but we managed to get a table. The food from the neighbouring tables looked good! We ordered a meal deal consisting of a sandwich (comes with salad/crisps), cake and hot drink. A waitress came to take our order. We couldn’t believe how popular it was and how reasonable the prices were. When the food came, the portions were generous!! The food was fresh and tasty. We couldn’t eat the cake and asked for a box to take home. The staff were friendly and we will definitely return again. They had seating outside and also dog friendly! We will peruse the garden centre too as ran out of time today!!

Lovely place run by lovely people. The jacket potatoes were very filling and very good value. We had a meal deal but were too full to eat the cake so we took them home to enjoy later. The photograph of the cake is just one portion! The cafe is dog friendly and the staff gave our little dog a sausage so he was happy too 🙂.

A great little Cafe, lovely staff telling you the best specials. The prices are very realistic. Very clean inside. Lots of cyclists use this cafe. If you out Ascam Richard way this is a great little café to call into.

As I work in the local area and break times are limited (live in carer) I popped to this place with client and daughter and it was amazing, the staff here of course are connected to the grounds of Askham Grange (please google) and they are lovely, the food here is so good, it really is, you have to go there and try it for yourself if you don't believe me, the meal deals are so good and very value for money, the food tastes great and there isnt too much in the menu where you feel overwhelmed, the portion of the cake sizes are indeed intended for just 1 person but if your feeling generous the portion could easily do 2 people, (I didn't shaređŸ€Ł) the staff here are friendly, so lovely to chat to and kind.... you almost forget where the center is (again google) it's easy to get to however parking may be a bit of an issue as its so popular it does get busy, I arrived just before 13.00 and found 1 parking space, you can park right outside the center which is good, there is no allocated car park so its a 1st come 1st get parked basis, absolutely give it a try and you won't be disappointed, there are toilets on site and you van have a winder around, plants, soil, various bird food, seeds etc are sold here so it's an all...

I went to the cafe on a recce a week before I wanted to have a family brunch there. I booked a table for the following Sunday. There was no problem, I was told, and booked for 6 at midday. We all went to the cemetery on Mother’s Day the next week, and then arrived, only to be told, in a packed cafe that the boss had cancelled our table but did not let us know. Apparently we could have a free drink as a compensation. We were furious. It took us a great deal of time and effort to find another venue that could take us on this special day. I will never recommend them, nor will I ever go back.

Thank you for your reply. I was not to know the member of staff was new. As you could not contact me, perhaps that was the time to honour the commitment. Those other people who tried to book were given the correct information and so had time to make other...

Visited today and I couldn't let the day pass without writing a recommendation. Absolutely 5+ stars for this hidden gem! The food is fantastic and really plentiful! The staff are delightful, brilliant, welcoming and accepting. Mum is an older lady living with dementia and is often repetitive with limited vocabulary and sometimes people can be dismissive but boy! we were welcomed, she was appreciated by the staff and we all enjoyed each other's company. We were treated like family. On to the food which was incredibly well cooked, piping hot and lovely big portions. We even got a meal deal and took pudding home to enjoy later. We were asked would we come back...Absolutely! We will visit time and time again for the community, company, food and lovely experience! A thousand...
