Called in on May Spring Bank Holiday Monday evening , 28 May 2018 without booking. We managed to squeeze into the rear car park , a carpark with about 15 spaces. We went into The Green Dragon and found all the tables that were not already taken had reservation signs on them. We spoke to the bar staff who were most accomodating and they suggested that we could have a table outside because everything inside was booked. I ordered drink and food with the bar person who was happy for me to set up a tab but because I was outside he wanted me to leave my bank with them. I decided to pay in advance and not leave my card. The barman gave me a small box with cutlery and sauces and said he would bring out the drinks and food.

We sat outside in the first of two seating areas either side of car park. The sun had come out and it was very pleasant outside . Very impressed with the prompt appearance of the drinks. I had half of lovely tasting real ale ( Ludlow Gold £3.40 a pint) , shows why The Green Dragon is in the Good Beer Guide. Food was brought out and was of an excellent quality . My wife had fillet steak which was well cooked and great tasting. My Cod was fresh tasting and coated in a crunchy golden batter. My son said his Burger was one of the best he had. A good quality of food and drink .

Visited again on 10 June 2018, booked a table by telephone , found the inside cool and inviting. Had very good food and...

⭐ 3 out of 5 stars Wonderful Food and Waitress, But Let Down by Aggressive Supervisor

We came as a group of seven for what should have been a really enjoyable family meal. The food was fantastic, and one of the waitresses was absolutely lovely — friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening.

Unfortunately, our experience was badly affected by a waiter named Nathen, who we were told is a supervisor. From the moment we arrived, his attitude was shockingly aggressive and unwelcoming. He was visibly irritated by our presence, raised his voice unnecessarily, and acted in a confrontational manner from the get go.

His behaviour made everyone at the table uncomfortable, especially as we had my elderly grandmother with us. There was no reason for the hostility — we were polite and respectful the entire time. It’s deeply concerning that someone in a supervisory role would treat customers this way.

The food and some of the staff were brilliant, but no meal — no matter how good — can make up for being treated like that. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures no other customers are spoken to or treated the way...

Had to travel just over two hours to go a bike dealer that I bought my E-bike from. On the way back home we wanted a lunch before we hit the road and I came across this beautiful put set just off the main road! Was really pleased with the customer service, menu, location of the pub , value for money and my lord you get a generous portion! The soup was had for starters and it was absolutely amazing. Tomato and chilli spicy but really nice helping of bread to go with it! Burger was on the menu so we had the spicy burger ( can’t remember what it was called ) hmmm mmm delicious!! Great value too, two course meal with two coffees was around £55. The fire was lite and made it even more cosy! Great staff always smiled 10/10. They prefer cash as you are supporting the local business but card is absolute fine! Please please visit this pub cause you won’t be disappointed! Defo book in advance we went at lunch time and managed to get a table and car...

Popped in to this great little pub whilst camping locally, Dog friendly and great atmosphere, was a Saturday evening so was busy, so would advise to pre book a table, good selection of beer and lagers, we had a table outside as the pub was full but all catered for outside with cutlery and condiments close to hand. Great views looking over the fields towards the hills. Food was hot and good size portions, we had starters and a main, we was advised that there would be. 15 min wait between courses but it needed up being 30 mins, presume it was due to it being busy. Staff were all pleasant and welcoming. We’ll be back again when we’re in that area.

It's the best vegan menu I've seen around this area. About 6 choices!. Which is amazing. Usually I go places and I'm told it's this. This is what you're having. I had mushroom risotto with garlic bread and chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. It was all very delicious. The garlic bread was too crispy, and I couldn't really taste garlic. That's my only gripe. Was still nice, though. The loos were nice and clean. The place itself is clean and looks nice. We were treated to watching the swifts flying around outside. The staff were a lovely helpful bunch. We will definitely be back and also recommend this place.
