Called in on May Spring Bank Holiday Monday evening , 28 May 2018 without booking. We managed to squeeze into the rear car park , a carpark with about 15 spaces. We went into The Green Dragon and found all the tables that were not already taken had reservation signs on them. We spoke to the bar staff who were most accomodating and they suggested that we could have a table outside because everything inside was booked. I ordered drink and food with the bar person who was happy for me to set up a tab but because I was outside he wanted me to leave my bank with them. I decided to pay in advance and not leave my card. The barman gave me a small box with cutlery and sauces and said he would bring out the drinks and food.
We sat outside in the first of two seating areas either side of car park. The sun had come out and it was very pleasant outside . Very impressed with the prompt appearance of the drinks. I had half of lovely tasting real ale ( Ludlow Gold £3.40 a pint) , shows why The Green Dragon is in the Good Beer Guide. Food was brought out and was of an excellent quality . My wife had fillet steak which was well cooked and great tasting. My Cod was fresh tasting and coated in a crunchy golden batter. My son said his Burger was one of the best he had. A good quality of food and drink .
Visited again on 10 June 2018, booked a table by telephone , found the inside cool and inviting. Had very good food and...
Read more⭐ 3 out of 5 stars Wonderful Food and Waitress, But Let Down by Aggressive Supervisor
We came as a group of seven for what should have been a really enjoyable family meal. The food was fantastic, and one of the waitresses was absolutely lovely — friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout the evening.
Unfortunately, our experience was badly affected by a waiter named Nathen, who we were told is a supervisor. From the moment we arrived, his attitude was shockingly aggressive and unwelcoming. He was visibly irritated by our presence, raised his voice unnecessarily, and acted in a confrontational manner from the get go.
His behaviour made everyone at the table uncomfortable, especially as we had my elderly grandmother with us. There was no reason for the hostility — we were polite and respectful the entire time. It’s deeply concerning that someone in a supervisory role would treat customers this way.
The food and some of the staff were brilliant, but no meal — no matter how good — can make up for being treated like that. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures no other customers are spoken to or treated the way...
