After several visits I decided to write review of one of my favourite coffee places in Northern England. My first two visits were completely out of my expectations and imagination. We found this lovely coffee shop in the middle of nowhere, on our long walking journey from Warrington to Manchester airport. Until the last moment we were not sure about our visit. You can hardly see inside and I was expecting to find another old fashioned place with bad unhealthy food, English tea only and watery coffee in "baskets". Fortunately for us, we gave it a try and we had fantastic time. After delicious creamy flat white served in stylish retro glasses I decided to order salmon bagel. It tasted fresh and delicious. I would be better if it's served with some vegetables, or little bit of salad or at least plum tomatoe cut in a half. On my second visit, I was already aware of good items in the menu, so I ordered flat white, salmon bagel and additionally, I tried cold matcha with blueberry sirup and breakfast bap with bacon, sausage and egg. Bap was ok (I'm not big fan of traditional English breakfast) but matcha was outstanding. Absolutely not sweet modern drink where all layers worked together very well, drink was very refreshing and you could clearly see texture and color of each layer. On my last two visits, unfortunately, I got again, great flat white, but matcha with raspberry sirup wasn't as amazing as the one with blueberry. Raspberry sirup is more artificial. Worst thing I've tried was a cake. Lemon cake was extremely sweet. Sugar paste and artificial yellow, whatever it was, at the top were uneatable. We ate the cake, because I don't like food waste, but we both had problem to do it. I'll try more cakes in future together with food options and edit my review later. But at this moment I'm giving The Greenery coffee full 5 stars for amazing friendly staff, nice modern decor, excellent coffee and matcha with delicious salmon bagel and, as a surprising addition, also for an adorable little flower corner shop with beautiful flower bouquets and local candles or other products. Thanks and see...
Read moreVery friendly and quick service on a Tuesday lunchtime. There is not a huge menu. However, there is still enough choice (panini's, sandwiches, baps, etc), and for me, more importantly, there are plenty of delicious looking cakes. I ordered a sausage barm (I would have preferred vegetarian sausages. Unfortunately, they are not on the menu). Considering I don't eat normal sausages, I must admit the sausage barm was very nice. For dessert, I had the double cookie with cream filling, which was absolutely delicious. I was offered the option of taking away the cookie if I couldn't finish it. It was that good. I just had to eat it all. To top off a great lunch, they do a very good americano coffee and all for the price of £9.59. Better value than a lot of the cafes in the area. The cafe is very clean with plenty of seating inside and outside. It is dog friendly. There is also the facility to buy flowers. I am not a flower person. However, they did look very nice. As you can see from my photographs there is plenty of parking. Within a couple of minutes of taking the photos, the spaces and most of the outside tables where taken I have already recommended the cafe to my...
Read moreA delightful little place! The decor is lovely in natural wood with real flowers on each table. The artistic bunches of flowers for sale to the back of the cafe add a homely, artisan feel. The menu is limited but delicious- bagels, paninis, etc , all served with a fresh bit of salad and a little pot of coleslaw. The teapots, milk jugs, and crockery are very quaint, all clever little touches that contribute to making a pleasant ambiance whilst eating. There is a large selection of very tempting cakes on the counter, kept in a hygienic cabinet. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly. Best of all, this cafe is dog friendly in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas- my little dog was welcomed with open arms and made to feel very special with treats and her own bowl of water. Needless to say, The Greenery has become our new favourite eating...
