We rang up to book a table, and they told us they could fit us in at 7.30. Upon arrival, it was very busy, we saw our table and sat down. The couple on the table next to us told us they had been waiting an hour for their meals, so I found a member of staff to ask if there was a long wait for food. He ansered that he wasn't sure, but the kitchen was busy. I told the group. By this point, no-one had come to us, so I went to collect menus myself. After about another 15 minutes, still no one had come to us, but the couple next to us received their order, more than an hour after placing it. At that point we decided to leave and go elsewhere. I appreciate that places get busy, but if they are booked up, I'd rather they'd told us that, so that we could have made different plans. Even though most people rate the food, we'll never know, therefore I can't...

The food was great, the fish pie I initially thought it was in a pie dish. Oh no it wasn't it was a proper pastry case, well cooked no soggy bottom, packed to overflowing with fish, topped with potato and cheese, absolutely marvellous. The deep fried brie was a big hit with two others in the party. The children's burger was large... Scampy and chips were spot on. The staff were very friendly, helpful and provided great service. I sat chatting to some of the locals, of which there seemed to be quite a few in attendance, which in itself is a good recommendation. The pub had been recommended to us by the Dunstan Hill Caravan site and they were correct in every detail. Almost forgot very dog friendly, they also supply quality...

Great local pub, full of character and atmosphere. Called in while we were on holiday. We felt very welcomed. Service was a little disorganised. Staff couldn't decide if we were to order food at the bar or someone would come to our table. Other than that a very lovely pleasant evening. Remember some change for the jukebox. We kept the pub full of music and were taking requests from surrounding tables. We will be back when we are in the area again. Food was lovely, we both had Sunday roast. Wasn't keen on all the fried parsnip all over the top of the plate. But I just put it to one side. Great selection of beers, friendly staff and a...

Local pub which happened to have a quiz night on. Food is nothing fancy, I had the Polish Bigos stew which was nice, and served with mash potatoes. Wife had the scampi and chips. Both had a pudding, sticky toffee pudding which was lovely and an apple crumble, which was cold and assembled separately rather than cooked together. Spent 60 which included 4 drinks so not expensive. Service was quite slow, we had to prompt people for pudding menus and to pay. Menus included as the website blocks my phone and pc. No signal in the village and WiFi calling cut me off everytime the picked the phone up.

Went to the Jolly Fisherman got rinsed on drinks, New York / London Town prices so shot to good old Google. Found this pub drove 6mins from Crabster bay and bliss. Fantastic to see a pub being ran traditionally. Great Manager & staff, locals and travelling customers all rattling together. Dogs were at various tables, our 3 loved the atmosphere and attention. Lovely old jukebox with good selection took my £10+ adequately set sound wise. Went in for quick meal stayed 4hrs, loved it. Real prices for drinks and food, no Cockney touting just good local business.
