So good you kind of want to keep it secret

The traditional English pub is a struggling species, so when you find a cosy, welcoming, funny and comfortable place like the greyhound it really is a joyous thing

The food, is outstanding, everything I’ve eaten here has been superb and they’re rightly very proud of it.

Great selection of beers, wines and more gins than you can get through in 3 sittings. First bottle of cafe Patron I’ve seen in ages

It might be possible to go in and sit quietly in a corner but who’d want to, the staff are great and thoroughly entertaining, although OXO is the star of the show (think Hooch from Turner and Hooch but much calmer)

You may have your attention drawn to their multiple awards, think they were mentioned once or twice and all, again thoroughly deserved

I just hope I can still get a table once everyone finds out...

First time visiting The Greyhound. It was a Sunday and no menus were provided. The waitress seemed a little put out when she asked what we wanted and we explained we hadn't seen the menu, once she told us the choices, she was further put out when asked if we could order cauliflower cheese as a side (you can't). No idea if they do desert, we weren't informed and didn't dare ask about it after the experience so far.

The meal itself was good and a generous amount! The attitude of the manger who threw a small chalkboard at the person paying for the meal, for having the audacity to ask if they had WiFi was disgusting! He has international bank accounts and is rarely in the UK and only asked this when paying the whole bill to check which uk account to pay from! Safe to say we won't...

The Greyhound Pub is an absolute gem! As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm and cozy atmosphere of a classic British country pub. The charming interior is full of character, with wooden beams, traditional décor, and a welcoming fireplace that makes it the perfect spot to relax.

The food is simply amazing — everything is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re after a hearty Sunday roast or something lighter, the menu offers a delicious selection that caters to all tastes, their takeaway option is a fantastic alternative, offering the same delicious quality to enjoy at home, they give a friendly service and a great pint to top it all off! Highly...

Keep seeing/hearing good things about The Greyhound so thought would try it for myself rather than going for a bog standard carvery. Upon arrival, greeted by several friendly members of staff who were very welcoming. The small open fire was going which made it all very cosy! Taken to our table and drinks order taken and delivered right away. It was only us there at the start so was pretty quiet but few more people arrived as the time went on. To some, the prices for the roasts might be a bit much but once they arrive, it’s understandable. Portion sizes are decent, all hot and fresh and plenty of gravy! Will certainly be back to try their steak night out!

Fabulous Afternoon Tea at The Greyhound. As much tea as we could drink, nothing was too much trouble, delicious sandwiches, mini quiches and sausage rolls, and delicious mini cakes. To top it off, home made delicious scones with clotted cream and jam ... such great value. Plenty for 4 people, we all left very full. My mum thoroughly enjoyed it for her 85th birthday treat, as did we all, my sister and myself had never had an afternoon tea before ... highly recommended.

Slipped in for lunch today. Was going to just have a baguette, but couldn't resist the steak and mushroom pudding. I am so glad I did. It was delicious, nice thick proper suet outer filled with succulent steak and plenty of it, mushrooms and rich gravy. I was full after. We are planning a Sunday visit but might need to forgo breakfast to do that justice. A hidden gem. Fabulous welcome and great service.
