Booked ahead for Sunday dinner and was advised they are currently serving a summery seasonal alternative to a traditional Sunday Roast. Absolutely delicious, never had anything quite like it! Between us we had stuffed belly pork in romesco sauce, garlic butter lobster (we could smell the garlic when we walked in!) and rotisserie chicken with tenderstem brocoli. The veg came in huge sharing dishes with beautifully cooked carrots and beetroot with a roasted onion crumb, buttered new potatoes and a delicious tomato salad. We were all absolutely made up with everything we ate. Served by several staff who were all very friendly. We enjoyed eating in the bar area but there is also an adjacent restaurant and plenty of space in the garden too. Reasonably priced we thought, £40 per head covered a drink, main, desert, coffee and tip. Dog friendly too, although he just slept under the table having just been dragged around the estate for 2 hrs. Also well worth a visit for the...

Firstly, I would love to give the pub a higher rating for atmosphere but the pub needs / deserves more customers. We were there this evening (Friday) and there were just two other groups of diners and a few customers outside for drinks. Right! Enough already with the moaning! The service was great: professional and friendly and the food was fab. I would really recommend the whipped cod’s roe on sourdough toast with a soft poached egg. It was delicious. My partner had Isle of Wight tomatoes with hummus and a flatbread which was also really tasty. We followed this with a burger and fish and chips - absolutely no complaints. We also went there on Easter Sunday with the family, and my daughter-in-law said it was the best roast dinner she’d had out EVER! We have just moved into Bridport and this is our now local and we shall definitely be...

Had an early evening midweek meal here as part of a holiday stay with my father. Party of 6 at table and my late addition brother ate at the next table. Universal praise for the service and food. Incredibly flexible about adjustments to meals. Some highlights: the 3 for £20 combo sharing starter is an excellent product- wife & I shared an amazing camembert, duck parcels and breaded shrimps. Star of the show for me was the Asian beef salad- satisfying, truly tasty and it felt really healthy eating it with an amazing oriental salad/ Asian slaw and very generous portion of succulent, flavoursome and lean beef strips. The latest owners have turned this place into a top-end experience and I hope they are able to deliver the same care & attention when it's...

First 5* full house review for awhile and here is totally worthy. Visited after a lovely walk in Wayford Woods with the dogs. Warm welcome from the attentive staff, nice table in the dog friendly bar area. Great selection of beers, ales & spirits. Great background music making a lovely chilled atmosphere. Lovely selection on the menu all reasonable price, but worth paying a little more for good quality produce. We picked 3 out of about 7 from the small taster items. Freshly prepared very well presented we were not disappointed. Definitely will return when in the area again .

Tried the Ilchester Arms for dinner on Wednesday evening as it was a 3 minute walk from our accommodation. The food was delicious, the pub cosy and welcoming, staff friendly and helpful. Based on this, we booked in for the next 3 nights and sampled various dishes on the menu (arrancini, beef burger, fish and chips, Caesar salad, sausage and mash, pan fried chicken breast. Both the crumble and rhubarb pannacotta were delicious). I would highly recommend this pub to anyone staying in the Bridport area. They are open Wednesday through to 5pm Sunday.
