A Glorious Feast at The Lamb Inn, Nomansland

If you’re after a proper pub meal in the heart of the New Forest, look no further than The Lamb Inn in Nomansland. This gem of a pub delivers everything you could want—hearty portions, top-notch flavours, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The Pies of the Week menu is a stroke of genius, offering an ever-changing selection of handmade pies packed with rich, satisfying fillings. I had the chilli con carne pie, and it was an absolute knockout. The balance of spice and flavour was spot on, with a generous, meaty filling encased in a beautifully crisp and buttery pastry. It’s the kind of pie that keeps you coming back for more.

And then there’s the Big Daddy roast dinner—a towering plate of perfection. Three roast meats, each cooked to absolute tenderness, accompanied by all the trimmings: crispy roast potatoes, perfectly cooked veg, a fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and a rich, flavourful gravy that tied everything together. Easily one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had—generous, delicious, and cooked with real care.

With great food, a friendly team, and a proper country pub feel, The Lamb Inn is a must-visit. Whether you’re stopping in for a pie, a roast, or just a pint by the fire, you won’t be...

We had a lovely meal here food was tasty and great portion sizes. However who knows if they do pudding?!?!? We got greeted with a nice hello but then service was very slow. When they came to take our order they didnt know what they had or what they didnt have and two items my husband ordered told where ok to then come back to the table to tell us they didn't have it in tonight. Eventually the third item they did. The waitress was rather miserable and not very happy. After a long wait we received our food. A table who ordered after us with the same amount of people as us got food before us. They had then finished there meal before ours arrived. Once it arrived it was a good portion size and very yummy. We then watched the bar staff cleaning the bar at 8:45 and look at us and see we had finished but never came to clear our table or check if we enjoyed the food. We ended up paying at the bar after waiting a while for service and watch them chat. We wanted pudding but where never offered it. Maby they...

Sadly, today 21 August 2022 was the first and last meal we shall have at The Lamb, Nomansland. The Sunday Roast was by far the worst my wife and I have ever had. Whilst we did manage the meat OK (I had chicken and my wife had beef), the vegetables jwere ust dreadful. The advertised crispy roast potatoes were like soft rubber and chewy, the blob of chicken stuffing was like jelly ( I couldn't even bring myself to put it into my mouth), strings of cabbage were dry and tasted awful and the cauliflower cheese actually tasted stale so most of it was left untouched (as were all the vegetables overall). We complained to the waitress, received the expected ""I'm so sorry" platitudes followed by the bill for the full amount with no relief for how terrible both meals actually were, not even a visit to the table by the manager to discuss the issues we had. Never again and cannot recommend it at all. We would give it a zero star rating...

What an amazing pub. We have been visiting this area for so.e years and have always been recommended to get a meal here or even just spend an evening enjoying this pub, but we only visited for the first time recently. The service here was great and the staff offered some advice on the menu, we made our choices and waited for the food to arrive, whilst enjoying our drinks, surprisingly the wait was not long. Our meals were well presented and OMG, were they tasty. We were blown away with the quality of the food and the value for money. Now I see why all our friends recommend we visit the The Lamb... we will definitely be coming regularly and I will highly recommend anyone else reading this stops off for a great meal. Just visited here again and it has been taken over with new management. Well, never fear, it is just as good, if not better.

We were recommended this pub for a meal as it’s very dog friendly. The location is very nice. We were given a warm welcome and shown to a window table. The first course of crispy chicken wings looked huge, mainly due to the fact it was the whole wing with the tip left on. They had a very thick coating of crumb which was very difficult to get through with very little dipping sauce to help break it down. Once you got to the chicken it was ok. My wife had the chicken roulade which she enjoyed. I had the burger and I added a pulled pork topping. I’m afraid the whole thing was a let down. Very dry with very little moister. I asked for a source to liven it up. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return as the price gave me and much indigestion as the food.
