Good evening.

I wanted to just drop a line to say that on Saturday we had a wonderful wedding at Glyn Ceiriog Church followed by a lovely evening reception at your venue. That was until the food arrived. I was saddened to see that there was not enough food for everyone and I was even more upset to see that Kylie the bride was very upset that she felt the food that she had been promised had not materialised. I understand that 700 pounds was paid for the buffet and I noticed that most of it was frozen and very cheap food. I think that for the amount of money the food could have been much better and also that there should have been enough seeing as it was for 100 people and only 80 people attended, of which i think a quarter were very small children and didnt actually eat food. For example my daughter ate one chicken leg!!

The bride contacted Bev who is the cook who said that everyone should only have eaten one sandwhich and that the issue was people had eaten too much. Seeing as there were so many children who attended and ate nothing i think that this was a poor response to an upset bride. No refund was offered and no apology was given. I would not book this venue or urge anyone else to because of the food. The manager/owner was lovely though and the other staff...

Where to start. A fantastic venue offering lovely meals ranging from Sunday roasts, curry's, steaks, pies, fish, lasagne's and many puddings.

Large range of ales, lagers, ciders, spirits and cocktail's.

A very large function room capable of hosting over 200 people.

Tidy games room with 2 pool tables, a dart board, quiz machines, bandits and juke box with a massive selection of music.

Clean and tidy toilets for the pub/restaurant and function room.

Fantastic beer garden slabbed and grass with a play garden for children with the sun hitting it from earlier hours til late at night.

Stopped off on our way home from Llangollen. Beer was excellent as was my steak and my husband's gammon and eggs. Worthy of 4 or even 5 stars for that. Stars deducted because the outdoor area and tables were a disgrace. Cigarette butts and ash everywhere I looked. A few minutes sweeping and cleaning the tables would make a difference. It was not something that just happened. It had been there for days even weeks. Girl who brought our cutlery and napkins should have noticed and done it. I should have complained but manager should be checking every day as part of routine. Unlikely to...
