On the recommendation of a local resident, we visited the Lion while staying in the area, and we weren't disappointed. New landlords, Jonathan and Pip, had only taken over the pub a month before, but appear to be making their mark in a positive and good way. As we entered there was a nice buzz inside with a mix of locals and others, and soft background music playing which wasn't intrusive and an assault on the ears, as it is in so many other places! Food was well cooked, nicely presented, with generous portions, and everything was delicious. One of us chose Hunter Chicken and the other had Chicken Penang Curry. For dessert we both selected ice cream sundaes, one with chocolate brownie bits and one with cherry Bakewell tart. Both were really tasty and finished off the meal perfectly. I never normally order a curry in a pub as it is usually a disappointment. I happen to know this chef is good with his herbs and spices so I ordered the Thai chicken curry and was not disappointed. Highly...

The Lion Inn is a small village pub with a very good restaurant. It has an interesting menu of tradtional and various cuisines including vegetarian, fish and meat dishes. All of the food we had over the week had good fresh ingredients, well cooked and presented and was extremely tasty. The service was friendly and efficent. Given this the food was very reasonably priced. It is a lovely village in beautiful countryside and only 2 or 3 miles out of Dunster Finally, very good chips and...
