Located at the end of a primarily single track lane, you'll find this charming pub. If arriving between 2pm and 6pm the owners will give you instruction how to access your room. Starting with the accomodation - the bed was larger than average and exceptionally comfortable. A couple of very tasty homemade biscuits awaited us on the room's serving tray. How lovely! Tea and coffee also in the room, however the milk is kept in the fridge at the bottom of a very short corridor. Read moreHospitality is a much overused term. We found genuine hospitality at the Marquis of Lorne. The room was relatively small, but very clean and comfortable with lots of personal touches that mark the difference between service and a genuine feeling of homeliness. Access to the rooms would preclude those with mobility difficulties. Thoughtful additions like access to fresh milk for hot drinks, homemade biscuits and other personlised touches help with a welcoming feeling. Breakfasts are cooked to order and include individual fresh fruit salads but limited choice. Much has been made of the food in this forum and we'd endorse every good review. The quality is outstanding. It's location is stunning. Since it's in Hardy country we'll finish with a thought from the man himself with a quote from his diary, which might be talking about the visit. He wrote " “Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to...
