We went to Marrowbone & Cleaver on Saturday and it was pants. We were so looking forward to it, we've been before and it was great. This was meant to be a treat, spent nearly £80. I had a giant Yorkshire pudding with bangers and mash. The y p was a really cheap, store bought one-tasted like cardboard, totally overcooked, I had 3 tiny sausages, two of them burnt, the gravy was made of granules and like water, it came with chips, which they charged extra and shouldn't have. All the chips were undercooked. My daughter had gammon which was tiny, thin, very dry and salty. My partner's mixed grill was ok. I ordered a coffee, cost nearly £4, which was disgusting and undrinkable. I queried it and they said that their coffee machine doesn't work so they are using instant. No refund, no half price..... My daughter ordered a chocolate fudge cake for nearly £7. A small slap of cake and one scoop of ice cream. No decoration, nothing special for that price. I ordered a cherry crumble, it was rock solid, like a brick, I kid you not. No cherries to be seen, just some odd jelly which did weird things in warm custard. Again, queried it, response was, yeah it's a bit solid, isn't it. It was too soggy last week, trying to get it right. We complained, nobody cared, no refund, no nothing. Such a waste...

haven't been here for a while so booked a table to celebrate daughter's gcse results . arrived early, food & drinks ordered. really disappointed the way this has deteriorated from our last visit. the 2 staff seemed rushed from the minute we got there to the time we left. we waited almost an hour for our food to arrive - then only 3 from 5 meals arrived . the veg with the bangers & mash was lukewarm , the lasagne was incredibly dry. the 2 portions of chicken alfredo were the reason given for our late meals. when they arrived (as we were halfway through our food ) they were disappointing - virtually no broccoli , raw looking bacon and the sauce had the texture of milk and did not taste of cheese as stated. we decided against attempting to order pudding as it was 2.45 (had been told on booking that the kitchen closed at 3) - but we weren't offered any. the upsetting part was that there was no apology for the late food and not once were we asked about our food so we could've said something. i don't want to sound negative but maybe the chef needs to prep more so people aren't waiting - we expected the chicken alfredo to be more like a pasta bake in a thick sauce not a bowl of watery soup. it really looked like a last minute dish thrown together. sorry - but that's how...

Been here before a while ago and food was always good. Recently visited not such a good experience. Had the Pate for starter at £8.95 was very overpriced the toast was basically a thin slice of white bread from a regular loaf barely toasted, pickle obviously shop bought and the pate was obviously bought in not home made very disappointing, I have had better from Aldi.

Had the chicken in leek sauce with chips for main, dry chicken breast and the sauce was very thin and could barely see a leek. On a positive the gentleman who served us was very polite and pleasant

Sat in the conservatory which was ridiculously loud, it was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my husband sat opposite because we couldn't hear each other.

Also visited a couple of weeks ago to have a catch up with a friend, the lady behind the bar was extremely abrupt and rude to my friend. The place was almost empty and whilst waiting for me he put his belongings on a table just in the doorway of the restaurant area which was empty as it was 4pm. She rudely asked if we had booked at table and when we said no abruptly asked him to remove them and sit somewhere else, with an extremely sour look on her face.

I will definitely not be...

I'm a big fan of Guy and as a birthday treat my girlfriend booked us a table. The staff were very friendly and despite being an hour early (we came from afar and misjudged the travel time) our table was ready and we were politely shown to our seats. The atmosphere is lovely with tributes to the Lancaster bomber dotted around and pictures (as well as a beautiful mural) of various Lincolnshire landmarks. If you're a Guy fan there are plenty of little nods to him but if you're not a massive bike fan you wouldn't feel out of place at all. The food was amazing, I had the fish platter and the girlfriend had the gluten free burger, we were both blown away with not only the quality of the food but also the portion sizes. Proper food, proper delicious!! We both left absolutely stuffed, the only regret being we hadn't left enough room for desert. Whilst enjoying our meals we saw a variety of other meals being delivered to other tables and it all looked amazing and has definitely prompted us into visiting again to try the rest of the menu. By far one of the nicest meals we've had out in recent memory and both of us would highly recommend! Thanks to all of the staff for such a lovely visit!

I read the reviews, which was excellent. So I decided to walk from Humberside Airport to give it try. Upon arrival I went into the place, it was not crowded, several tables was free, and so was the bar. I had not made a reservation, so I asked for a table for one, or a seat at the bar. The personal, apparently not happy to see a customer (no smiles) looked around and said I could sit next door at the bar. So I ordered a cider and moved next door. With the minute it took, then all of the sudden I could not sit at the bar. So I was asked to find a seat outside. Before I could go anywhere I had to pay for the cider…… So I went outside, enjoyed my cider, and the personnel came out with the menu, no smiles, no presentation of the board menu. So I quickly found the beef and ale pie. I sat there until the personnel came out with food for others sitting outside. So I asked if I could order? No, I had to go to the bar. No worries, however a heads up would have been great. Went in to order, no smiles, and please pay before you go out again. After that I received my food, ate, and left the pub. While I was there there was constantly tables free inside…

Been on my list to visit, Sally and Guy Martin's pub in the village of Kirmington. Only a couple of motorbikes parked up when I visited. Parking at back of pub or on road. Attractive wall murals in car park. Garden with outdoor seating, including sheltered area. Handpulled cask beers were Batemans Chopper, Yorkshire Farm Brewery's Flanker and Sharp's Doombar. Good range of food on menu with most tastes catered for. Helpful staff who were very familiar with food menu and could advise accordingly. I had the vegan shepherds pie and it was super über tasty. Came as a really good plateful with mash, gravy, carrots, broccoli, swede and cabbage. Server said it was one of their most popular dishes and yep, I can see why. Very highly recommended indeed. Raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake with cream for pud. Ladies loos were good, clean. Would revisit and recommend, the food was fab and they look after their beer reet.
