Stopped off on a journey south, to what seemed an inviting local country pub. Once seated we ordered from the set menu and paid through the app so you would assume things would move quicker? Sadly not... our starters arrived, no drinks, asked a member of staff, and then soon after the main courses arrived but no drinks, asked a member of staff again, still no drinks arrived. Shortly thereafter my wife then finished her meal and so I approached the bar asking if it would be easier if I served myself, as a printed ticket sitting lonely on the back of the bar was picked up and notice it was our drinks order.... the drinks arrived! The reason? We only have two staff on today... I saw no more than eight occupied tables so mustve been more than two can handle... The food was nice the service was abysmal and we won't be stopping here on our way back from our weekend break.

Haven't been in here for a while and went in on the off chance they were still doing food ... couldn't fault anything from the time we walked in ... all staff were very friendly and welcoming... one lady especially her name was Alison... customer skill were great ... can't fault the food that was amazing ..

Had a carvery here which was good as usual but discovered the pizza kitchen so had to return to try it out. Great new option for this place and now has a salad bar available too for healthy option with pizza or carvery. Love the revamp and like that you can now reserve tables online too πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ•πŸ₯—πŸŸπŸ₯‚

I have read some of the 5 star reviews for this place and they are perfectly understandable. The whole interior and exterior of the restaurant is very nice and modern. Food initially looked good and we were impressed by the pizza, veg and pudding stations. However, on walking into the restaurant (and waiting a while) we were met by a rather flustered waiter who took us to our sticky round wooden table, accompanied by a broken chair which we of course couldn't use. We then continued to order our drinks, and then send some of them back again after realising they were not what we had asked for. We then proceeded to order our food, and specifically asked for some of the toppings to NOT be on the burger that we wanted. After a long wait, we were then rather hastily delivered a burger with ALL of the toppings we had NOT asked for in the burger. The waiter said, 'there's a bit of mayonnaise on there, but it's fine' and then rushed off again. As we did not want to be a bother with complaining, we proceeded to eat some of the burger, but were pretty discustsd by the horrible runny American Cheese Sauce, which of course we had asked to be kept off of our meal. After forcing a few more bites, we decided we would ask for another burger, as we were paying for it so we wanted to get what we ordered. We called the lady over and explained what had happened, and she said okay, but then went away and returned about 5 minutes later and quickly collected our plates without saying anything. We then waited for a while again, and finally were given our 'meal'. However, what we were greeted with was not what was described on the menu, or even anything like what we had previously been served. We were literally given a peice of chicken in a bun, and were told that 'there was some cheddar at the salad bar if we wanted it'. No lettuce, no tomato, no melted cheese and no bacon - as had been promised in the menu. Now we had become quite angry as we had waited so long for our meal, only to receive a piece of bread. Overall the staff were just totally unprofessional and the food was a big disappointment. Do not come here. I would probably get better food from a small village cafe. This place needs some...

We are regulars here , having four children three of whom are disabled. However recently the customer service has seriously deteriorated . we went on Monday 11th march for a meal just before 5 pm with a party of over ten including several very disabled children . I can only describe one of the women serving us as obnoxious . We asked if we could sit near the window in order that we could see our children .Playing outside. We asked for this specific table upon booking . this unpleasant woman had inadvertantly set up a table at the other end of the pub. No great issue , however when we simply asked to sit on the table we wanted , she basically had a tantrum . she shouted at us , admonished us for " blatantly ignoring her " ? ! And then said all parents needed to be outside with the children at all times ( a rule the nice lady who took over from her after 5 said was not actually a rule ) . The horrid lady continued with the unpleasantness until she left and handed on to someone else. This new person and the rest of the staff were lovely . This other woman needs dealing with urgently and other staff did state " she s always like that " . quite frankly I have never been spoken to so rudely in a restaurant in my life. Its hard enough going out with disabled children without dealing with obnoxious battleaxes who seem determined to ruin your night on top. Its really not hard. Smile at your customers , if there's an empty table they want and need then supply it for them. This is the second time this woman has basically had a pop at me upon my arrival. It would be comical if I wasn't paying for the privelidge . Complaint to manager is en route . this needs sorting because this woman should not be in customer service in...

Food ok for money but swimming in oil. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Bacon always seems fatty and never nice and crispy.

Sausages cheap but fairly tasty shame about the oil bath!!

Hashbrowns today were terrible just warm and under cooked. Funny but the only item that wasn't swimming in oil. Did they even see the fryer or oven?

Eggs just swimming in unnecessary amount of oil.

Beans and tomatoes, well thankfully you can't go wrong with them and no oil required.

Chips, can't comment didn't have them but why would you have chips for breakfast?? My boy did and said they were lush!!! But he's 12 and easily pleased with chips.

Fried bread, the 1 item you would expect to be covered in oil was very nice, crispy and dry.

Mushrooms, well you have to pay extra for a side of mushrooms.......why!!!

Coffee was warm, nice but warm.

Would I eat there there again? Well after trying this place for the 2nd time for breakfast I think I will have to say no. I will take my son back to harvesters for breakfast. Better quality no oil bath and you don't pay extra for for mushrooms and they do black pudding.

So if your going take your own kitchen towel to dry off all the oil.

So today 17th Nov 18 me and my son thought we would stop off and try again on our way to cribbs. And wow what a difference from last time. sausages Absolutely spot on Hashbrowns absolutely spot on, nice crispy Eggs perfect and min oil Bacon could of been a bit crisper but that's a personal preference. Overall absolutely loved the breaky today a huge difference from last time and all hot and fresh as well. Thanks for a lovely breakfast see you...
