You need to keep in mind this IS NOT A PUB, it is a restaurant dressed up as pub. You MUST BOOK A TABLE. This is a local for me and on the past two occasions I have gone in for a drink, thinking it is a pub. On both occasions I picked an empty table, the card saying that is was reserved but the time being long passed. e.g 1245hrs and it was now 1400hrs. You would think you were safe to use this table but this is not so. At any point a booking can be taken and you will be given notice that you will need to vacate the table. The first time I had 30mins notice, this time 60 mins. So if you just want to drink then you can hang at the limited bar, the 4-5 table near the bar or go outside. The focus is on customers who are buying food. So this is a restaurant with a small bar NOT a pub which does food. So if you want to have a quiet drink unmolested you will need to book a table. If you opt for food be very clear that you have paid your bill and get a receipt. On a previous visit I was a chased across the car park by a staff member and had to prove I had paid. To which I got a very curt apology. This is not a customer centric business. The food is good if on the more pricey side. Service is efficient and the staff are friendly. So as a restaurant it is spot on. This is a place you go to eat not to drink.

What a delightful place to have a drink or a bite to eat. I was here for a few hours on a Thursday evening and was astonished to find how big this pub was. And it was extremely busy, which is a great sign. Despite this, there was hardly a wait at the bar and the staff were very attentive. I found myself a nice little table in the bar area and ordered a "light bite" steak sandwich which was delicious! Plenty of steak and very juicy and pink. Perfect! One particular staff member was extremely helpful, Nicola, she checked on me regularly but not constantly, which was appreciated as I was working. I also overheard her with the table next to me and she was just an extremely happy and helpful delight. Nothing was too much. Thank you Nicola for your excellent service! Would definitely recommend to go here and will definitely be coming back. Oh and a little treat of a flapjack was a sweet surprise to enjoy!

Lovely pub, very clean and nicely decorated. So great to go for a treat or to meet with friends. Children menu available as well as an extensive gluten free one. My kids had chicken nuggets and beef burger and I had the lamb hot pot (see photo). All was nicely presented and tasted good. However my husband had the steak and ale pie and it was rather disappointing, specially for the £15 or so that it costs. Very very little meat and gravy tasteless and watery. We would possibly go back and give it another chance but there are so many other nice pubs with lovely food and cheaper prices! Overall, is good and worth a try.

I recently dined here and had a disappointing experience due to an unfortunate incident. During our meal, someone was sick very close to our table. While I understand that such things can happen unexpectedly, the lack of response from the restaurant staff was concerning.

We had to move ourselves to a table further away from the incident, as the waiter did not offer any assistance or show any concern for the disruption it caused us. This significantly impacted our dining experience. When we received the bill, I politely requested a discount due to the inconvenience. The waiter refused, stating that it wasn’t their fault and then got the manager. Unfortunately, even the manager was not understanding or accommodating. Instead of showing empathy or trying to resolve the situation, the manager was dismissive and spent more time debating with me about him being right rather than trying to resolve the situation.

While I understand that the situation was beyond their control, it happened within the restaurant and during their service. A small gesture of goodwill, such as a discount or a complimentary item, would have shown that they value their customers and acknowledge the disturbance.

Good customer service involves making efforts to ensure a positive experience even when things go wrong. Unfortunately, The Morris Dancer missed an opportunity to demonstrate this. Due to their poor handling of the situation and lack of customer care, I will not be dining here again.

I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their customer service...

Recent reviews are pretty good so perhaps we were just unlucky but last night’s dinner was below average and def not worth the price. I feel Brunning and Price’s food standards have slipped a lot over the last few years generally and tbh I kind of expect what we got last night. One dish of fish pie was sent back, I had the same and it was ok-ish, but nowhere near restaurant standards. The beef bourguignon was like a school dinner with fatty chunks of beef and a lack of the bacon and onions associated with that dish. The vegetables served along with our meals were incompetent; the ‘French’ style peas with the fish pie were laughably off the mark. A few silver skin onions tossed in with some bullet hard peas and no lettuce or stock in sight. We ordered some seasonal greens to replace and this was only marginally better. Gastro pubs were a great thing and the concept has largely been sucked dry by the corporate chains that now operate so many. B and P were great at The Grosvenor Arms 20 years ago but this is not the same entity and no better than Chef and Brewer. The shame now is that they have a quasi monopoly in Cheshire. The Cheshire Pub Company (3 in Mobberley) show that standards can be better than this. I noted that it wasn’t that busy for food so perhaps people are starting to vote with their feet. Food this bad is...
