Attended the pub last night looking forward to my week off and as a celebration decided to have a meal at the local pub. Decided to have the new crispy sweet chilli beef Sizzler is it looked good and sounded great. My partner had the American platter. We reserved a table as we had eaten there three or 4 times before and we're always impressed. The food arrived promptly and looked great at first sight. My partner was very satisfied with her American platter. However I'm starting to eat my Sizzler I found that one be prawn cracker was well over cooked and brown round the edges. I thought hey ho and continued to go to the meet full stop the meat was hard and over cooked. Going to the onions and peppers that were on the Sizzling plate they were cold and undercooked full stop I couldn't find anybody to complain about food so just left my plate which is it her just put me off over and under cooked food in a greasy plate was not mentally or physically pleasing full stop halfway through my partner's meal I found a waitress who was clearing a table and complained about the food. Explained my complaints and it wasn't satisfactory and could you please take the food away. She did this and by the time But someone came back to me regarding my meal the manager my partner had finished her meal. Again I explained why I had not eaten the food and the manager turned around and said that no one else had complained about the food that the onions and the Papas were pre-prepared and therefore could not be undercooked and that the Sizzling beef was supposed to be crispy. I tried to explain that crispy beef that I've had on many occasions was not supposed to be over cooked and that even if the onions and pepper were pre-cooked on a sizzling dish they would have browned off a little and not sat in fat. The manager said that no one else had complained and offered me an alternative meal. My partner had already finished her meal so I was offered an ice cream full stop at no point was there an apology I was not asking for a refund and never was raised. As stated I've eaten there on three or four occasions before and never been dissatisfied but found that both the meal was atrocious and the customer care was beyond belief when my girlfriend went to pay for the bill she was told that the meal had been deducted as a gesture of Goodwill to encourage us to return. This is not...
Read moreThis is one of the chain of 'Sizzler' pub/restaurants. After visiting the one nearest to us at Stapleford, which we won't ever do again, after cold undercooked foo),we thought we'd try this one in Oakwood. Ordered a sweet potato lentil n spinach Dhansak. It said it was supposed to be served with mango chutney, this never even arrived at my table. On the 2 for £8:50 menu. This was firstly a very small portion for an adult,(didn't want kids portions). And sorry to say was served to our table at best 'Luke warm'.. Was looking forward to a nice hot meal, sadly we didn't get one, me or my partner. She had a Minced beef and ale pie with mashed potato and peas in gravy. Mashed potato was like hard on one side pie was hot, peas ok but again the whole meal again sadly luke warm. When we as the general public go to work and work long hrs we don't expect to spend our hard earned wages on like warm meals when we decide to eat out. I had to wait for a nice older lady behind the bar to shout at another staff member as customers were waiting myself included whilstvya just stood chatting to someone in the other bar. Terrible customer services. Its no wonder people don't go back. I read similar reviews about cold food. It was 4 degrees outside and all we wanted was hot piping food to warm us both up on our journey home. It's not too much to ask is it? But it seems sadly it his too much.. I heard comments on other tables near us to coinciding with our own thoughts. I always review wherever I eat out at,to give people our honest opinion of what happened. Quite a few things need to be changed. I don't like to 'put down' anyone if I can help it,but feel I should air my views to...
Read moreWent for a meal today, we opted for the more expensive sirloin steak as it was a special occasion, to be honest it was nothing to write home about, it was a good job we had a voucher for 33% off mains as the steak was certainly not worth the full asking price, seemed like a very cheap cut of meat, chewy and tough, also it was overcooked and not medium rare as we had ordered. After taking our order and paying, about 10 mins later the waitress came over and said that unfortunately they did not have enough garlic prawns for the two orders, so they offered a substitute for a portion of breaded scampi, this we agreed to however, this was not very tasty, it was chewy and appeared to also have been overcooked. When the meals came the staff member who served us said she had taken one look at the size of the portion of sweet potato fries that the kitchen had served up and was not happy with it, so had asked them to cook up some more which were on there way. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to pass on my comments to the staff as no one came to ask us how the meal was, and there was no staff behind the bar when we left. Having been before and enjoyed the ribeye steaks, today was very dissapointing, maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen but they were not busy with only a handfull of customers, so no real excuse for the lack of quality on this occasion. I dont think we will be...
