Incredible dinner at The Oak Tree Inn - Meze & Grill last night. Sharing the Cold Meze, Mixed Grill and Mixed Seafood Platter with the most amazing Turkish Clay Oven breads. Im an avid seafood lover and every bit of it was cooked to perfection! That creamy mustard sauce that comes with it was to die for! My 6 year old little girl was super impressed with her Kids Menu Chicken Burger and Ice cream with chocolate sauce while I enjoyed some prosecco and the most amazing cocktails. It has a cosy (yes even in this weather) outdoor seating area for food and/ or drinks - I will definitely be sat out there wrapped up getting into the Christmas spirit throughout the winter. Im so pleased we booked as the whole place was PACKED out, even the bar area was full of locals! If you want to go, I would recommend to book in advance (particularly on weekends). Regardless of how packed it was, the service was still impeccable, the staff couldnt do enough for us. We spoke to a couple of tables around us and everyone was giving the same amazing feedback! I feel like Im never going to be away from this place from now on, love it!

During our first visit under new management, we sat in the outside area, which was decently equipped with heaters and covers. However, we had to wait for 15 minutes before our drinks order was taken, and we weren't given menus initially. Although the server apologized and eventually brought us menus, the service was slow. It took 30 minutes for our dinner to arrive, and we didn't receive any further attention during our meal. The food was decent overall, but the mashed potatoes were unpleasantly lumpy. We then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the dessert menu, and after ordering, we waited a long time for our puddings. One of the puddings was also served incorrectly at first. After several delays, we finally received the correct puddings and promptly asked for the bill, which was delivered quickly. We shall not be returning.

This is possible one of the best meals I've ever had! The food from this pub is amazing, high quality and delicious food for a reasonable price, I highly recommend to anyone who lives in or is visiting the teesside area to go and have a good meal here. Small cosy pub with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options are available on request. I had the Chinese chicken(sweet and sour) and the brownie(chocolate brownie, a scoop of ice cream and strawberry sauce) and they were amazing, there is a smoking area outside with a football table and also seating for in the summer, toilets were very small and could do with being refurbished but were kept very clean.

Absolutely NOT ON My family and I came for a special birthday and we have been many times before and have always had a great experience however tonight has completely ruined our view of the place and we will NOT be returning. The waitress Harriett for a start was very rude and inattentive , did not listen to our orders and had a terrible attitude. First my mums food was brought out separately and was the completely wrong dish, then she had specified multiple times that she wanted the sauce on the side of her meal (when they finally understood what she wanted despite literally pointing it out on the menu about three times because the first girl simply wasn’t listening), they brought hers again and it was wrong again as the sauce was allover the food when she asked at least four times not to have it poured on so that she could control the amount. Then, the ‘fillet of salmon’ turned out to be a couple bits of shredded salmon, NOT a fillet at all. She couldn’t eat the food. My order was vegan parmo, then I was told they ran out of vegan meat substitute, so that left me plain mushroom pie or noodles, neither I liked the sound of. Then someone else (manager) told me oh no we can have vegan meat in the pie actually, I said what about any cream ? I was told once there was none at all then a second later by someone else it was vegan cream, so I was worried about the ingredients used in the food too. Then it finally came and it was the most bland, disgusting piece of ‘food’ I’ve ever tasted, I couldn’t eat a single bite after a first try and even my family agreed it was vile. Rock hard, dry, tasteless. Both our meals were taken away on our request, however, the manager (who refused to give us his name) was very abrupt and adamant that ‘look I’ve said sorry’ as if that is anywhere near enough when in fact he didn’t and was so rude, to the point of marching off while my mum was still speaking to him. He was trying to get us new dishes and we kept saying no you’re not listening just take it off the bill we don’t want anything else from here, clearly trying not to lose money. Overall, horrendous experience, made to feel like we were being unreasonable when in fact we have been loyal customers for many years but since the change in management, the food and service has gone massively downhill. Some of the other girls were very apologetic and helpful to their credit (two blonde girls) but the MANAGER was so so rude, bordering on confrontational and Harriet has a vile attitude to the point where I caught her mocking and pulling faces about my family to other members of staff more than once. They have lost a lot of custom with us which is a shame as it not only ruined the night, we left hungry and very angry at how we were treated. What was supposed to be a special birthday treat turned into a disaster. Won’t be returning unless they get rid of the terrible manager and disgusting disrespectful little girl who is currently working there....

We were regular visitors here until a few months ago. We visited last night as we had a special occasion. I hadn't realised that it had changed ownership. Just like the Derry, anyone following in the footsteps of tne previous owners will have an impossible shoe to fill.

1st thing I noticed was the lack of cars at 6pm , this set alarm bells. The place would normally be fully booked out from open to close.

Then I noticed the menus on the table, a A4 printout like one of those in a holiday resort place.

We ordered 2 parmos , 1 scampi and a chicken burger.

The parmos 1st, well they were beautifully presented on the plate, a large portion. All looks good.

The Chicken escalope unfortunately was only just cooked and on the edge of being done and not. The bottom was soggy to the point the breadcrumbs peeled off the bottom like a fish skin. The chicken wasn't the best at all.

The bech and cheese were fine, the chunky chips looked great, but I felt they were cooked in old oil which really doesn't agree with your stomach later. The onion rings confirmed this too.

As for the chicken burger, this was the best meal out of the 4. No issues. Presented nice and there were no complaints

The scampi and chips also no issue.

Our bill for 4 meals a side of onion rings and a drink each £75. Which isn't bad. It's just not the oak tree we were expecting.

The service was good, would I go back, unfortunately not.

I tried to be objective, but it's just not tbe same...

We came here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend. The place is lovely and inviting. We had the nachos to start, no complaints about those. I had the crispy chicken burger and I found the hash brown to be bland but the rest was quite nice. My friend had the beef and onion toasted sandwich and the beef came extremely pink. When we mentioned this to one of the senior staff, there was no resolve offered by him, not that we expected one but it would’ve been nice. Then at the end of the meal, another member of staff asked if everything was ok and, we mentioned the steak in the sandwich, which was untouched. He seemed to agree with us that it was far too pink but again no rectification was offered. The bill was then swiftly put on our table, without us even asking for it, what if we had wanted dessert/more drink? We were then hovered over by another young staff member wanting us to pay the bill, once paid we were finishing up our drinks but we felt as though we were being hovered over and almost rushed out because, as soon as we stood up everything was cleared off the table, without us even walking out of the door yet. There was a lot of staff on so perhaps some training was taking place but overall, it was an ok lunch sort of dampened by feeling rushed out, although it...
