This is a fabulous old fashioned country pub. The staff are a delight. We went for Sunday Lunch. Having booked in advance a table for 9 we were surprised to find, that out of a very small menu to start with of two starters , three mains, and one desert that the original desert wasn't available and one of the mains was unavailable. This pub has a reputation for good food, but I don't think the main chef must work in Sundays. Everything was perfectly acceptable as a pub Sunday lunch but nothing special. The desert was changed to an Eton Mess. Merengue strawberries and cream! I would have expected a desert that was made by a qualified chef to be a little more adventurous.
