My brother and I recently stayed at The Penruddocke Arms for 3 nights over the Solstice, we had a fantastic stay. We stayed in the family room. The hotel is in Dinton which is a picturesque village but the hotel has the peace and quiet which was sorely needed. The hotel has a great sized bar and function room and I had a few delicious meals made by the owner, I believe it's the best Karahi I have ever had, in fact I asked if they deliver to the West of Scotland lol. The garden is a work in progress and has the most beautiful flowers, also there are geese and a duck not to forget Ronnie the Tortoise ❤️, I love this. The room had an ensuite bathroom with a bath, which was a treat. The owner is a fascinating man, the staff are so helpful and nothing was too much bother, so thanks for that. I will be booking there again.

We visited here on Sunday 30th July and asked for a Ploughman's, one ham and one brie, this is what we got .As it was put in front of us the first shock was the tile it was on and then looking at the food it looked like something was missing. My salad was just rocket with a few peppers the other had on small piece of lettuce and a handful of rocket. No pickled onion,no grapes, no apple. it just looked like an unmade sandwich. We then ordered an apple crumble which was again very disappointing it was a tart thing made with so much strange crumble on and around it you could hardly taste the apple. Very disappointed. Also we both ordered tea which never did come. The staff were very friendly though and it did seem busy.

Stayed here the 7th August 2024. Room was just under £50, if i remember correctly. So I wasn't expecting much. Staff seemed friendly. Got to the room and was greeted with a horrendous stench, assumed it was a clogged drain behind the building. Later i discovered it was from mouldy pasta inside the kettle. I wasn't told of any night staff while I was shown the room so I had to leave the kettle in the hallway. The room was dusty and didn't feel the cleanest but fine for the price. I would have had no issue had it not been for the mouldy kettle.

Pre booked and paid for Christmas Day dinner for my sister and son. At £40 a head was a really good deal. Appeared to be an absence of staff on arrival. One lady and get child serving food and a chef on the hot plate. After being seated in the restaurant we waited over 20 minutes for service so went to the bar to look for someone. A really nice lady came out from the kitchen and explained they had sickness so there was only the two of them. We had ordered the vegetarian option which came undercooked and cold. Vegetables were literally the dregs of the hot plate. We didn’t stay for dessert. We were told we did not have to pay for one of the drinks as goodwill for the service (the two glasses of Prosecco were flat anyway).. |The restaurant was grubby we were seated next to dead flies, cobwebs and broken old Christmas decorations and the place needed a good old clean. |I requested a refund from the absentee manager today, after describing our experience, and have been told that I won’t be getting one as everyone else on the day was happy and we were clearly the problem. In the response I have been accused of being rude to the staff (which couldn’t be any further from the truth) We actually felt sorry for how they had been left on the day and told them so ,also that we were going to drive off (strange comment to make as I paid in advance!)|Don’t expect a sincere apology as you won’t get one. Unprofessional narcissistic management who won’t accept criticism and feedback, who also needs to learn some customer service skills when dealing with negative feedback. |Fortunately, I paid by credit card so will be getting my money...

Really disappointed as visited here Saturday evening staying locally after Stonehenge. Rang to make booking was told if we were dropped off, due to poor road and last day of our holiday the manager said he would drop us back at campsite 4 mins away by car. Enjoyed a game of pool and chat with staff but unfortunately the food took ages to come out as even my 9 year old questioned what was taking so long. My daughter was delighted with her pizza which was hand made, but my chicken wings were barely even warm. There was a delay for the coleslaw which wasn’t really edible. Manager more focussed on doing deliveroos and leaving a bell on the counter and leaving site. Poor chef having to serve other customer in pub and serve drinks. Did enjoy the pool table. Felt ripped off for a mainly half inedible meal. Duck nachos for my wife full of fat and could have been knocked up by anyone in a few minutes. Don’t understand why we waited so long for very basic dishes and had cold chicken wings. Then we had to walk back to the campsite though promised lift, I have a medical condition req hip surgery and my poor daughter walking along a dangerous road getting dark, so we could enjoy a drink on our last night of our holiday, so the fact they got our business was thoroughly disappointed it wasn’t followed through with promises and was ripped off. Shame as a reviews for other days seem to be great. Should have gone down the pub down the...

Was a last minute choice and was not sure when read reviews but took a chance. A year ago they were supposedly dealing with the last owners rubbish....well... it is all still there...the gardens and entrance to rooms are disgusting...a scrap yard, garden and bushes overgrown, full black sacks, duck mess and cigarette butts everywhere plus a rogue sock and lines of tea cloths which I hoped were not going to be used in the kichen! Taken to room by the owner who made no apology for the state ...but the he was in sandals and an old t shirt!!! The room was as clean as was possible with the age and disrepair of the old building.....but even old windows can be clean. More junk in a cupboard! Very noisy road and trains ..not their fault. We said we would be down for breakfast for 9am..went down and all doors were locked to enter the pub...lady having a cigarette in the garden...owner? Got in the car and drove off and had an excellent breakfast at the Sol cafe. Probably the best idea. I am sorry for the building which could be lovely but alas not without a fortune to spend...
