Those of you who know me , know about my passion for cooking and all things food related ! You will also know how fussy I am, and how often I am disappointed when eating out Tonight was an exception ! I would Highly recommend the Pheasant , a new venture for my lovely cousin Pete and his partner Kate . The food was absolutely delicious ! Everything was fresh and locally sourced. We had Arancini for starters , which Oli said were amazing , and much better than the ones we had in a famous Italian restaurant My mam had Battered Brie , she said the batter was so light . With a mixture of mains , I had Chicken and Haggis with a mushroom and whiskey sauce , with proper Homemade chips . By far THE best meal I have eaten out in a very long time. We will definitely be back! Please follow them on FB for all the new exciting things that Pete and Kate have lined up in...

The bride here of the surprise post wedding party. We had the vegetarian options (everyone else at the table had meat or fish and polished the plates clean), I was sceptical at first of the beetroot ravioli on the menu, being Italian myself and having had many disappointing pasta dishes in pubs before. HOWEVER, these were superb. Made from scratch and cooked to perfection! The cauliflower steak and the veggies that came with it were so lovely too! The dessert (sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie) were also top quality. Peter and staff were so accommodating and even made our daughter a portion of apple crumble outside the menu option! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A MEAL...

Organised a meal for my brothers leaving party / surprise wedding reception. Peter had amazing communication whilst I was arranging and was very polite and friendly. They even gave us a set menu price which had really good discounts against ordering the items separately. They allowed us to have the pub to ourselves by opening earlier than usual. All the staff were so lovely and accommodating. The food was delicious, the burger was so juicy and you could tell the Ingredients were high quality and fresh. The Oreo sundae was incredible! Thank you so much for making it a special occasion for us all. Will 100% be coming back...

Attended a taster meal and wine tasting evening. The pub is tucked away in a small village reached by pretty country lanes. Has a large car park and very welcoming staff. The food was plentiful. Much bigger portions than i expected for a taster menu. Wine was well chosen. The evening was very enjoyable. We will def be back to this venue. Edited a year later: Been back several times for meals, and never been disappointed the choice and quality is outstanding. As the pub is in a small village We stopped the night in their flat over the bar. It was lovely very clean and comfortable.

Definitely a interesting experience. My parents took my for the yearly meal to this place. We were greeted at the door by a lanky blonde girl who appeared to have a lisp, not helpful at all with her teenage attitude. When we had our meal it was cold dry and papery with insects all over, even for a mackum that’s bad. We got the bill and it was £247.45, obviously didn’t pay it and that’s when they got mad. Would not recommended as the owner has a lethal right hook and you don’t want to get on his bad side. -alan.

The staff where lovely and the food tasty but after spending £65.00 quid plus iwas charged £3.00 extra for 4 pieces of asparagus tips and green pease plus £1.50 for a bread roll. Being a former head chef i was appalled that my king prawn starter had 4 king prawns with a dolop of avacardo 3 micro thin pieces of cucumber. Main was the smallest part of lamb rump winth diddy roast potatoes my wife had steak wich wasnt the best.... And we didnt complaine because of it was my wifes sons wedding party
