The beer is well kept and reasonably priced. I'd visit again if I found myself in that particular corner of Melksham. It seems The Pilot is a wet pub, unless arrangements have been made for some form of catering. This was the case when I went there. A large pizza was the offering, with a choice of about 4 forms, you know, pepperoni or just cheese or chicken or something else. It was large, but I've had better pizza for a tenner. Unusual for an estate pub it always has a good choice of traditional still ciders, not just the fizzy chemical stuff you normally see. Also a decent choice of cask beers as well, mostly local
