The Plough Hyde Heath — Restaurant in England

It is many years since we last visited the Plough. When we arrived there at lunch time today we found that they are just coming to the end of a major refurbishment programme and the kitchen which has been shut for the past seven months had been reopened this morning. This meant that our party was one of the first groups to experience the output of the new kitchen. We were given a very warm welcome and immediately felt at home. We enjoyed a delightful family meal here on Friday evening in celebration of my husband’s birthday. The main course was tasty and generous and the desserts were absolutely delicious! Some of the best desserts we have tasted; especially the warm chocolate brownie, cheesecake and pavlova - all homemade, so with a richness and depth of flavour that is rarely found with desserts bought-in from wholesalers. What a smashing little pub! We had just done a 5 mile walk, so came in thirsty and hungry. The menu is basic pub staples, but the generous helpings arrived quickly, hot and well cooked, washed down with a well kept jug of Rebellion.
