Horrific Customer Service. Avoid!!! Went to the The Plough Inn for the first time with family and friends for a meal. We had a large table of 7 and ordered food and drinks on a tab. Food was nice and the service was quick but that is where the positivity ends sadly. When we had finished, we requested the bill which didn't arrive. We then had to go to the bar to request it again. We had ordered a taxi and was in a rush my this point. We paid the bill and left. The next day we looked and the receipt only to discover that we been overcharged for drinks that we didn't have and a steak sauce (we didn't have steak!). We returned to the the pub and approached the waiting staff who swiftly looked into the issue and confirmed that we had paid for drinks that been consumed by another table that we in at the same time as us. They calculated that we were due a refund of 32.00 and said they needed the manager to authorise it. Then arrived the 'Manager' who could even manage politeness let alone a restaurant! She asked why we hadn't brought up the issue last night, we said we didn't get the bill at the table! She then said we had consumed the drinks and were trying it on. She was so so rude and never in my life have I ever experienced such rudeness. I asked why her staff had agreed with us when they checked back, off she went to speak with the staff. She returned asking for the card that we had paid on. No explanation or apology. We the proceeded to tell her how disappointed we were at how it had been dealt with. Her answer to that was ' life is disappointing'!!!!! Furthermore she came out with this comment in earshot of other customers. Avoid at all costs. There are far better places to eat near by and they just don't appreciate...

We visited the Plough as a group of 16. Staff requested that, as we were paying separately, we order seperatly. We did this in four orders placed minutes apart.

A staff member then came to our table to confirm we had all ordered - so far so good.

Unfortunately the meals then came out in three groups (not four!) with big gaps between so the first group had finished by the time the third groups food arrived.

As the fourth group (myself, wife, 6 year old and 3 year old) we watched everyone else eat. We enquired with staff about our delayed food who just said it was because we ordered seperatly.

As we watched the other twelve members of our party finish their meals and try and scrape together their left overs for our upset children I went to find a supervisor.

I was informed that there had been an admin error and that our food was now ready or we could have our money back.

I'm not a person who complains seeking freebies but there was no attempt at service recovery. I would have expected an offer of free drinks (we were drinking cokes and fruit shoots) or some other effort to make up for this poor service.

As the rest of our group had long finished their meals I accepted the refund and then left.

There are plenty of other places that serve good food in the area. Take your custom somewhere that values...

3 stars for the food and the facilities. The pizza was yummy albeit slightly overpriced. Sat outside with the children playing on the park. The manager is a bit of a grump. He told us to put our dog on the lead even though the area was enclosed, he was behaving and we were the only customers there (we are very conscious of others and would have put him on the lead if others were there) He told us they only served the food to the terraced area, understandable as it's a walk to the grassy area, so when the food came out we carried our pizza ourselves near the play area to watch over the children and he came out to watch us for a bit. Very unnerving? Myself and a female friend ordered the food, I think he would have told us off if when he came out our husbands werent sat there with us. He changed his mind for a reason and chose to watch us from a...

I ordered the braised beef shortrib pictured. There was a tiny bit of tough dry meat and the potatoes were covered in an awful cheese sauce. I complained immediately. They discounted the price but didn't offer to remove completely from the bill. The steak pie was decent enough. The roast dinner was poorly cooked and had little meat. The pizza also had some strange tasting cheese on it which my daughter (who usually loves pizza and proper cheese) refused scraped off.

Would be a 3.8 if I could score that.. Food was ok. My brownie was really hard so couldnt eat it but my friend's was fine, she really liked it. We had Moroccan lamb and rendang. Hand sanitizer didnt seem to be working, I pumped it around 4 times and nothing came out but thankfully I had my own. Staff were gloves. No track or trace that I was aware of but staff were pleasant

Looking forwards to changing the ⁴ to a 5 after trying the food. Gutted I have never been here after living close by on and off for over 20yrs. Beer well pulled, well kept. Staff /landlord relaxed and friendly. Locals welcoming and friendly. Ambiance a bit early to comment other than warm and welcoming. I will be back with my family to put the menu to test.
