Hidden Gem So what can I say.... Me, my partner and our two huskies stayed what this wonderful pub.
Trying to find a place that allows dogs let alone two huskies is hard.
We stumbled onto their page and booked a room for 3nights. We wasn't asked for a deposit incase they or us had to cancel, so we wouldn't lose money.
The first night we rocked up..... We felt so welcomed and even had a laugh out two with the locals.
Second night... The food is made fresh and full of taste. I had pizza and my partner had the burger.... Let's just say to don't leave on a empty stomach, it's very filling and great portion size.
Third nights... We came back for more I had chicken goujons chips with peas and my partner had fish and chips......more like whale and chips. You ready do get value for money with this pub.
The Land Lady and her husband was amazing from start to finish of our stay.
There is still some improvements to be made, but we can say for sure..... We 100% will be staying here again and would highly recommend this to all...
Read moreVisited on a Friday night. Had pre-booked a table for 2 but there were lots of spaces inside as it was a lovely evening and lots of diners were sat outside. To be honest, after reading previous reviews, we were a bit underwhelmed. Service was ok-ish. (Also we asked the waiter about the availability of the dessert as we sat down - but he didn't come back to us !!) We ended up with the 'Steak special' option. Soup to start with, 2 sirloin steaks and bottle of house Merlot. It was just ok. Standard pub fare but nothing...
Read moreA pre-arranged extended family meal of 3 generations. Two days later and we are all still talking about how much we enjoyed the meal, the pub , the ambience and the staff. This was an important celebratory meal and although it was a Christmas fare, was exceptional. Starters included, Ham hock terrine, salted beetroot and blue cheese salad, curried parsnip soup and prawn cocktails. The soup just smelled amazing and by all accounts the salad was one of the best ever! You could not ask for more of the Turkey main course, all the trimmings and the pigs in blankets were probably the best ever? I would dare to suggest locally sourced? Desserts were plentiful, Christmas pud, sherry trifle, Black forrest gateaux and cheese board. The table layout looked delightful and there was plenty of room for us all. To everyone at the Plough. Thank you so much for such an...
