They rang yesterday morning and said ‘do you have a table booked’ and we said we did and they said ‘oh well how many people’ which I did think was unprofessional at the time but just put it down to them being busy. When we got there at 7 we were asked to wait at the bar but it was horrendously busy and although current covid restrictions state masks are optional no staff member or person in the restaurant had a mask on. Due to this we asked to wait outside with being pregnant (being high risk) and feeling quite uncomfortable. After 30 minutes they came to say our table was ready. We sat waiting for someone to talk our order until we asked if someone could come and they informed us we had to go to the bar to give our order, this would of been helpful if this information was given to us when we were seated. Ordered nachos which were nice, main meals came and I had ordered katsu curry, the chicken came pink which I then asked a member of staff if they could ask the kitchen to make sure it’s cooked properly due to not wanting to be poorly and being pregnant. The young girl explained that the kitchen staff said it was a vein which was causing it to be pink and that they had checked the temperature but the whole of the chicken was pink. Unfortunately I just can’t take the risk in eating pink chicken. Overall the group were quite disappointed with their parmos. We felt the restaurant was too busy with limited staff and limited regard for anyone who would be quite anxious or weary of covid. I usually come for lunch to this restaurant and have never had any issues but last nights encounter has made me feel extremely...
Read moreDropped in on Sunday the 21st of July for some dinner. We waited quite a while at the door to be offered a table which isn’t the best but it was moderately busy so that’s not an issue. We were seated at quite a strange table, the legs were too close together so you have to sort of uncomfortably straddle the table with one leg between the table legs and the other outside. We went for 2 topside beef dinners a Diet Coke and an orange and water, it came to £29.85. The dinner was okay nothing to write home about and the vegetable selection was bland and left a lot to be desired. Now onto my gripe which pushed me to write this review, I had a hankering for chocolate fudge cake after my dinner. So after our plates were taken away we sat and waited and waited for anyone to come and ask if we wanted anymore drinks or a dessert menu etc… no one came. My partner had to ask if there was a menu available and we got told it was on a board next the bar. Why? Would it kill you to print off a dozen desert menus to save people have to get up and awkwardly scan through a desert menu which is on the wall right next to a table full of customers. In the end we decided to not have a desert and just to leave and most likely never return. Next time I will definitely just go to the mill house down the road it’s far better in my...
Read moreVisited Monday July 22nd, with family, just after 5pm. I got the smothered chicken, chicken breast with garlic and mushroom sauce. This dish was bland and didn't taste much like garlic at all, more just a creamy chicken. Another dish we ordered was the Chicken Katsu, this didn't taste remotely like Katsu curry, just a plain chip shop curry sauce. The creamy sauce was still acceptable, but the curry sauce was not. We had been the week before and ordered the same dish, so we knew the curry sauce didn't taste right. We waited for the server to come back and ask if everything was ok with the meal so we could get it changed, but no one returned. The meal was getting cold so it had to just be eaten which was very disappointing. I finished my drink quite quickly and sat with an empty glass, again waiting for someone to come near so I could buy another drink, no one came. Customer service was non existant. Even when we were at the bar paying the bill, the person serving was too busy talking to someone else behind the bar to be able to hold the card reader steady. It was moving all over the place while payment was...
