Called in for a drink while out walking. Beautiful pub & really warm & welcoming bar with real fire, real candles & fresh flowers on the tables, all score mega brownie points with me, very civilised! Excellent range of beers & gins. Refurbished to a high standard in country style with high quality fabrics. Even the toilets were very smart and immaculate! Drinks served by a very pleasant barman. Will definitely go back, probably to stay and definitely to eat there.

The bedroom was in serious need of updating and was pretty grim. The shower was in such as state that we couldn't bring ourselves to use it. The pub itself looked fine (we didn't eat there as we're at a wedding in the village). The member of staff who checked us in was really pleasant. Opening times seem odd considering it has rooms. The pub didn't open until 3 so we had to leave the wedding for a period to check in. We would not go back here to stay.

Lovely little pub with a nice tea selection! My group had been on a long walk in the rain, so the Queens Head was a nice place to stop and relax. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are lovely. They even have some games like Jenga! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I felt the outside wasn't very welcoming. Could use more greenery? I'm not sure.

We stayed for 2 nights at a cost of £360 and so were expecting a reasonable quality experience.

Despite a disappointing first impression (the outside is pretty run down) we were still hopeful.

Unfortunately our room (Room 2) was on the ground floor with 2 sides adjoining roads / pavements.

There was no privacy unless you had the blinds down, which made the room gloomy and difficult to use. No dressing gowns are provided.

It was very warm and there was no fan or air conditioning, yet being on the ground floor and next to a road we didn’t feel we could sleep with the windows open.

We were woken at 5am with road noise on the first morning.

The peeling paint on the walls, full dirty teapot on arrival and spider dangling from the light above our bed didn’t help!

I emailed the hotel and spoke to the person on duty the next morning. No one came back to me with any comments or acknowledgment of our complaint and so I am writing this review.

Breakfast is ok (although full self service).

Be aware you will not feel like you had a good...

Arrived at the pub at midday, closed, sign on door said bar opens at 12, food served from 1pm! Was turned away quite rudely and told wasn’t open until 1pm came back at 13.05 and then had to wait 15 mins before we was shown to our seat for our meal Finally offered a drink list at 13.35. Drinks finally arrived 13.45. Ordered food & starter arrived 25 mins later! Chicken terrain very bland, no seasoning and not offered any condiments. Had to find a waitress and ask for some! Finished starter and plates collected 20 mins later . So we’ve been here an hour and 15 minutes now and still no sign of main meal. No one seems to know what each other are doing! Shocking service and the waitresses seem to not have a clue! Main finally came and we were offered literally a thimble of gravy each and 3 roast potatoes that when put together didn’t even equate to 1 potato! I asked for some more, willing to pay and was told no as only enough for each guest! Safe to say we will never be coming back here again and we highly DONT...

We visited here on a Friday night. We waited forty minutes from getting our drinks to ordering food. No explanation or warning of this. It was really odd.|The little bits they brought out once we had ordered were nice but we didn’t really savour them as we had already been seated for an hour. |The food was to a good standard but the service was pretty poor. We were never asked if we wanted more drinks and had to chase up veg side orders. These arrived a good five minutes after our main meals and we were still charged for them. Again no apology. |There was also four very loud people drinking at the bar & they killed the atmosphere for everyone else in there. |Definitely not a “posh pub grub” experience. |It was an expensive meal and we have had lovely dining experiences locally for a lot less, |We won’t be...
