Great classic cosy pub - friendly atmosphere with a great selection of local ales and lagers. Even has Hawkstone on tap!! We had lunch - roast pork sandwich with crackling which was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and it has a great Family run feel about it. If you are nearby then definitely give the Queens Head a visit. Parking available down the street in a public car park.

Cracking small village pub and restaurant. Cost with great decor. Outside seating is great, and seems popular with dog walkers.

Small, local pub. Good place to stop for meal or pint after visiting Stowe Gardens. Friendly and efficient service.

My wife and myself visited a few weeks ago after searching for new local pubs, we visited and enjoyed our time there, one small thing was that I was over charged on one of the rounds we had but didn’t realise until I was home, this wasn’t a big deal so we decided to visit again with the whole family.

I’m not sure if it was just a stressful day but the pub seemed busier than before which was good to see, but from the moment we arrived we felt the children weren’t welcome.

The initial interaction with the bar lady was very different from before, almost a look of disgust as I sat our children by the bar as we ordered. But we sat down with our drinks and immediately it became apparent the children were not welcome.

Our youngest son has special needs and was standing on the long benches instead of sitting, we were told he must sit down. He wasn’t of any bother to anyone else, we couldn’t have been at the table longer than 60 seconds before this.

I couldn’t finish my drink quick enough, the moment we arrived we felt this establishment was definitely not child friendly, a completely different experience from when we visited without children.

We left very disappointed as I had previously said to my wife what a great find it was.

Such a shame, I hope this review helps to improve others experience in the future but I will not be returning for...

We stopped here for lunch after visiting Stowe. Parking was a problem. It was late in the afternoon, close to cut off time for lunches, but staff were great, meals were excellent, and bar staff very polite. Pleased we were told about the Queens Head. Menu was a little restricted, but we were advised afterwards why that was, we both had chicken pie & mash, very nice with a decent amount of filling. Unlike some pie manufacturer that just show the insides with a sample. I did hear a lady say on her way out to the lady behind the bar, that the crumble was excellent. Pity we were full. My only downer in pubs, not just this one, but all, is the excessive charging £3.60 odd, for a pint of coke. Again, this is not a dig at the Queens head, just generally. If in the area again I would not hesitate to call in. Would recommend here to anyone. And card payment is fine by me, as I carry little cash these days, and that was...

Went for lunch on Good Friday with the family and what a fantastic pub it is!! It was very busy being bank holiday, but everything ran smoothly, we arrived early and our table was ready for us. The staff are an absolute credit. Phil was so welcoming and accommodating, his son behind the bar was outstanding!!! The food was some of the best we’ve had in a long time. Plenty of beers on draught, different gins, wines etc available so not short of choice by any means. Cannot fault it at all. We will definitely...
