This is a great pub, a local secret with very good food. Famous for their schnitzel, there are also enough other choices on the menu to keep all of your friends and family happy. I can heartily recommend the flat iron steak salad!

The range of drinks on offer is as you would expect for a pub but they also have a few good ales on tap as you'd expect.

The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful with recommendations for food and drinks. The decor is wonderful as it acts as a living museum for the village of Evenley as well. There is a good space for dining and drinking outside, a well maintained play area for children and it is dog friendly too! There is plenty of car parking at the pub. This is a great little venue and I can only imagine how good the atmosphere must be if you get there just as a game of football or cricket begins on the village green opposite.

Keep an eye out and take the time to enjoy a visit to this charming local pub with...

We had family staying for Easter. We live locally, and my father booked it as I had been keen to visit. The hot chocolate was weak and not exciting stepmothers' choice pre dinner! It's her favourite. The service was OK, but unfortunately, the waitress and my father collided, and he ended up with salad on his lap. There was little acknowledgement of the embarrassment to a gentleman in his 80s. I suspect I would have found the situation difficult at the age of the waitress, but that's where strong management comes into play! We love popping in for a drink in the summer, but I am unsure we will return for dinner. It's a bit of a bugbear of mine but young people need to learn how to communicate with us oldies! I am in my 50's and worked in various restaurants as a teenager, including...

Lovely village pub, delicious Sunday roast and nice wine selection. In the summer the garden is a really nice place to sit and bonus is it has a play area! The garden is set out in a way that you could sit away from the play area if you wanted, or there are some tables right next to it so you can supervise children. It's mainly food inside in the evening, but if stopping for just a drink you can sit under heated covered area. My only one improvement would be smaller cheaper children's portions, £10 for a 3 year old with desserts then full price is a bit steep. For older children it's great, but a toddler size would be good. Love the after dinner...

We randomly stopped by the other day and unfortunately the kitchen was closed by 2:30, so we came back today and I'm so glad we did. We enjoyed the artichoke hearts, the chicken satay, the 1/2 schnitzel, bread and butter, and a cookie with ice cream. The chicken satay really had no reason to be that good but wow, it really hit the spot! I really liked the artichoke hearts as well. We would love to come back and hopefully get a spot by the fire!

Stumbled upon this pub for a quick drink and it was great. We were so impressed by it we will be returning to try some food and will be making this a regular pub to visit. Its a proper pub with great offering. This type of pub which offers a bit for everyone (even something for the kids to play on in the garden) is a rarity these days. Looking forward to trying the Schnitzel! Also, one of the nicest non-alcoholic beers I've tried.

A very nice quintessential English pub in the picturesque village of Evenley, serving good quality pub food. Not a vast menu but but what was on there was a good variety. A few options for gluten free & the waitress was happy to explain the ones that could be adapted & also offered one more that wasn’t on the lunch menu. Good size portions & good service. We left to continue our walk very satisfied.
