Visited Friday night for a drink with friends and to see a band that they had on! When we got to the venue we found out that the band had been cancelled which I found strange we had travelled a fair distance to see the band! Drinks were a reasonable price service was excellent and the Landlady and Landlord were very welcoming! As we were staying in the area we returned to eat on the Saturday food was very nice and well priced steak pie & chips and “for the daring” pizza hot but very nice plus soft drinks about £30ish great value for money! My only complaint was no WiFi in this day and age it’s an essential offering to have for your customers! The pub is a bit of a dead zone for mobiles made worse by not being able to WiFi call!

Nice English pub in the quaint villiage of Hurley, lovely hospitality and service from the cheery staff, tryed the home made pie of the day which was chicken, must say a very tasty sauce, with chunks of succulent chicken and veg, a superb crusty top..a must try for any one, my friends had scampi and gammon which they said was cooked wonderfully..a beautiful country pub

Such a great pub to visit. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. The locals were friendly and up for a natter. We popped in a couple of times while on our holiday. We managed to make it to bingo evening, which was a good laugh. They had a nice choice of beer on tap, and my husband loved his curry!

We are staying in an Airbnb which is adjacent to the pub garden. We visited the pub twice during the day and had a very nice experience with some of our children and grandchildren. The food and service was excellent. Unfortunately, we returned to the accommodation just after midnight, some of the staff were sat outside with a drink which we thought was nice for them. However the number of people drinking outside increased and so did the noise levels. By 01.30 is was getting too loud to get to sleep, especially as a dog on the premises was barking regularly. I politely asked them if they wouldn't mind going inside to talk. One chap with red hair and a beard, who had drank quite a bit, started getting aggressive and was telling me to go to bed in a very dismissive way. My youngest child is older than him and I had to go back in the property before I said something which escalated the situation. By 02.30 I contacted the police who unfortunately would not attend as it was only a noise nuisance. It is now past 03.00 and the talking loudly is continuing but luckily the dog seems to have gone in. As a newly opened business, this conduct of staff and the situation will not sit well with surrounding residents and small businesses.

Well it's now 04.00, people still chatting loudly and "Beth the dog" is out again and the staff calling and whistling her. Are you the, MANAGEMENT, aware how long your premises are open ? Burning your electricity, let alone your stock ? Wonder why it was closed down for...

Sunday lunch disastrous. Booked table for wife and myself plus two guests Sunday 8th May. On arrival found table in attractive garden and ordered drinks at the bar for which we had to pay before ordering food. Then ordered four roast lunches together with deserts which we weren’t sure we would need but 2 course meal was the option. After a fair wait TWO roast meals arrived followed some minutes later by cutlery and condiments. After a while we insisted out guests start without us as no doubt our’s would arrive shortly. As one guest was finishing his meal we managed to attract the attention of a staff member to enquire after our meals. By the time our other guest had finished we were told that our meals would arrive shortly. By this time our Sunday lunch out had become farcical and we asked to see the manager as the young girls acting as waitresses had no idea what to do. The missing two meals arrived followed by the “chef/owner”. We at least expected an apology but we’re accosted by him wanting to”explain” why our meal had been ruined. One can only assume he had been to the Basil Fawlty school of customer relations! Having been told we were not listening to him he stormed off leaving us. By this stage our appetite was non existent so we returned the meals to the bar and after some debate were issued a refund for the uneaten food. Needless to say we will not be returning as good service is as important...

A most bizzare experience of incompetence we have ever encountered, and that's saying something for the pub trade. Arrive about 1.20. The pub looks good, okay car park. Not busy. We order two drinks after a short wait and look at the bar menu while being served. We take our drinks and sit down and the barman says he will come and take our order. We wait. Finally after about ten minutes we go to the bar and order from him there, two simple bar snacks. We sit and wait, and we wait, the place is almost empty. We wait, all told about twenty minutes. One snack arrives. We wait. In the end the solitary snack is finished, no sign of the other. Ten mintes later the barman returns the clear the plate and is asked about the other snack. He asks "what chili?", the chili ordered from you. He departs. We wait, we give it another ten minutes but can stand it no longer and go to the bar after five. He is there. "Forget the chili", he says that "it's not started". We ask to pay for the snack that appeared and are given a bill for somerhing else more expensive. We are given the right bill and depart to the car park. We just laugh, what else can one do, apart from never going to this bonkers place ever again. This is a story on which to dine people. It doesn't deserve one star but this won't go if no stars are touched. So forget...
