The Roseland Peninsula is one of my favourite areas of Cornwall, and a last minute decision to head over on the ferry last weekend, lead to a Sunday treat at the Roseland Inn. After a long walk, we were warmly welcomed by Abi, the landlady, who had confirmed our booking promptly and welcomed us warmly.

The Sunday roast was excellent, tender, melt-in-the-mouth meat, perfectly al dente vegetables, a large, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and delicious crispy roast potatoes, all topped with a rich flavoursome gravy. As someone who enjoys good food and is often disappointed, I can honestly say this meal exceeded my expectations and I would go as far as saying it is the best roast meal I have had in a restaurant or public house. There were plenty of options on the menu which all looked equally as tempting, my partner had the fish pie which he also raved about.

I do not often write reviews due to not wanting to leave negative feedback, however, I made an exception due to the quality of this meal and the friendliness of the owners, and I will most definitely be back. Thank...

Smashing little pub in the middle of nowhere really.

Booked a table for 6.30pm and also glad I did as its a busy place for evening meals.

Cannot fault the friendliness and helpful attitude of the staff.

A good range of gluten free options for those that need them as well as reasonably extensive menu including the daily specials board. The food was really good - sorry no photos of any of it (too intent on savouring the ginger infused lamb chump served with sautè potatoes - full of flavour and cooked very well.

Dogs are allowed - they've even got their own dog dinner menu!

Plenty of seating outside too in a nice courtyard.

One word of caution - go easy driving down the lanes to get there & back ... slow & steady...

Rupert catered for my sons wedding at the Helford in August and was first class from start to finish. The main dish was a middle eastern lamb cooked outside with the most unctuous butternut squash and salads and was absolutely delicious, plus plenty of it! Rupert was so helpful and just a great guy to have on the day along with his team and I would highly recommend him. Thanks Rupert for making our day so special, it was simply perfect and your contrubution was key. There are some photos so once I get my hands on them...

Absolutely incredible food. Had the Game Stew, quite literally the best stew I have ever eaten. Rest of my group had Sunday roasts, had a taste of them all and they were brilliant (the gravy is standout). Only issue I had was the waitor kept forgetting to bring us cutlery, we had to ask him twice because he forgot the first time. Even the table next to us were waiting for cutlery.

What a gem! A beautiful pub in a stunning setting with friendly staff and outstanding food, one of the best meals we had in Cornwall. Highly recommended. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the burger was just as good. Great selection of beers, wines, and spirits. One of the few places we enjoyed so much, we came back twice during our trip to Cornwall.
