From entering and sitting on the stool in the bar area with our family the staff were were welcoming and fun to chat too whilst serving others... They led us to a lovely window table in the conservatory. We ordered drinks and had plenty of time to read the menu and then ordered our meals with a very attentive lady. The lamb shank meal was lovely and must admit was soooo tasty it literally fell off the bone! We had other choices of fish, totally fresh and crispy, plus a beautiful chicken, bacon pasta dish ....all great I must admit. Our main intention was to celebrate our daughter's exam results tonight and this was totally fulfilled for our expectations of the restaurant. The desserts were a lovely to end our meal. Thank you to Paul the manager and his staff Calum, Debbie. Great night and will be back asap. Thank you xxx Love the Alderson family.

The hotel and inn were lovely, beautifully decorated with well appointed accommodation. We booked directly with the inn, the price was more competitive and included breakfast. All signage indicates that breakfast is served until 11. We realised that this was not the case for residents only restaurant patrons. We were slightly disappointed not to have been made aware on check in. On arrival we did enjoy a meal in the bar which was superb, much better than the usual pub grub. Overall the service was good and staff were very friendly. Car parking was free and the location was really convenient. It would be worth noting as a guest, breakfast is served until 9.30 and not 11 as the outdoor signage on the carpark advertises.

Went to the Seaton Lane Inn on the 4th of July for a family birthday. The prices of the food and drinks were reasonable, I think I paid £3.10 for a pint of fosters and £8.95 for the Aberdeen Angus burger . The drink was good and the burger was ok. A few of the party had starters which they all enjoyed. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. The only little down side was one of the main meals did not come out with the rest of the meals , but considering we were a party of around 16 and it was bought out within minutes of being asked for this did not spoil the evening.

I wasn't going to write a bad review because I was giving them the benefit of the doubt as were we are large group and were told they were having issues with agency chefs they were using but looking at these reviews the same kind of issues have been going on all year and they can't just keep apologising for the same stuff and not making any improvements.||We had 20 booked for a 40th birthday meal and I don't think it could of went any worse unfortunately.|A few of our party had been before and loved it, presumably when they had their good chefs.||We didn't think the menu was very big to start with but when we went to order there was loads not available so a lot of people didn't really get what they wanted, surely for a table of 20 it would make sense to take the orders before the meal to gauge what food needed to be ordered.||When the food arrived no one was really impressed and a few people specifically complained about pink chicken, hard rice cold parts and a joke of a mixed grill, like another review said months ago the chicken on the mixed grill was a chicken gougon strip, terrible sausage, the meat was cooked wrong and the portion was smaller and tasted worse than a weatherspoons mixed grill, the tomato on it wasn't even grilled.||After our starter was taken away some of us needed new cutlery so we had to ask and were told we had already had our cutlery, there was one set each....yes and then you took it away so we need more, why would you even say that?..||We asked how we were best paying and was told to go to the bar and say what we had which we did and paid in cash. We then realised about the £5 deposit we had all paid and went back to ask about it. They said we should of told them when we were paying and they had already took it off the total bill at the begining meaning the last few people to pay would have nothing to pay and they couldn't fix it so we had to work it out between ourselves. We didn't all know each other well and had mostly paid in cash so this wasn't really for us to rectify.||Overall it was a very poor meal and not great service even though the girls were apologising and friendly. We were all in good spirits still and we will certainly remember the celebration but probably not for the right reasons, time to get yourselves a proper...

I booked this hotel based on reviews its 4* status, location, free WIFI for the kids and it included breakfast. Having just returned from a 5 night stay I can say I will never return. The WIFI didn't work it was fixed on our last night, probably out of the hotels control but we were not even given an apology. This wouldn’t have been as bad if the TV provided worked but no, the signal was glitchy and didn't work 90% of the time. The service for breakfast was slow, the restaurant wasn’t heaving yet we waited 45 mins for breakfast on one occasion to be served over cooked black pudding and a sausage that hadn't even seen a pan (we didn't bother going for the last 2 mornings of our stay) We ate at the pub on 2 evenings the first the service was pleasant and the food was nice but on the second occasion we had steak and ale pie, the portion was small, the pie was very salty and microwaved (the pie and meat was dry and shrivelled at the edges) for Ā£12.95 I would of expected better. The staff were un engaging and disinterested (with the exception of 2 visits where the staff rota had switched and they were lovely) Due to covid we were told that there was no room service and to give in a sheet each morning and tick items we needed in the room, no problem. We did 2 mornings running and got nothing. It wasn't until after the 2nd failed attempt and our 4th night that I had to go to the restaurant and request fresh towels as room service had provided nothing. The room is described to have a king sized bed. Well this is a lie it is actually 2 single beds pushed together which are incredibly hard. I am only 5’1 and my feet hung over the end. I would say that this place is adequate for 1 to 2 nights stay but any more than that I would definitely reconsider and...

I booked this hotel originally because of the high ratings.

I wish I had come across one that said that this is an isolated hotel, about 30 minute walk outside of town. I recognize some may love this but taxis are relatively difficult to get and not having rented a car made this a really difficult place to be.

That aside, the decor of this place is in need of a redo… cobwebs line quite a few areas in the room, the room itself is relatively dark and dated. It is literally connected by a few doors to the pub which makes the hallways leading to the rooms smell like food etc.

The highlight was breakfast— it was really well done so if you are into that they make it a very easy process. The lowlight for me was the lack of anyone actually ā€œin chargeā€ of the hotel portion (much of the emphasis is in the restaurant and seems disconnected/discombobulated with check-in etc.) The general feeling in the hotel portion is dark, unwelcoming and somewhat dirty.

I transferred to No.16 hotel after one night– and for the same affordable price, if not a little cheaper I personally was so much better served. That said, part of that decision was the location barrier for me with Seaton Lane. Part of the other choice in that was the overall feeling of this hotel. I was much much happier personally at No.16 for location and decor was a lot lighter of a feeling. (No.16 is very much an Airbnb type of hotel with self check in etc. but the whole process...
