Had dinner last night. Prebooked a table. Waiting staff were attentive. Food was soooo slow. Starter took an hour to arrive. Main course another hour. Had to remind the waitress that we had been waiting ages Complained about cold plates and the food was redressed on warm plates but the food was Luke warm. Waitress offered to have it redone but we had already waited 2 hours and we're starving so we ate. Food was good well presented but was luke warm. the sides were really hot and the fries had so much salt on them we sent some to the chef to try. Desert took forever to arrive. It was nice but had been spoilt by previous Thought we would have coffee a latte and cappuccino. Well they were the worst I have ever had soo weak and tasteless. Ok they adjusted the bill accordingly but if the chef had any pride in his work he would ensure hot food was served on hot plates and the service was slick 3 3/4 hours for 3 courses and coffee is unacceptable and the tables around us had similar problems. The waiting staff seemed so apologetic that it appeared to be a regular occurance. Definitely not worth the money if I had to pay the full amount. They must have lost hundreds of pounds last night. We will not be going back again as this is not the first bad experience...

Visited for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August following recommendation as we were entertaining a guest. Overall, we were very disappointed with the experience. Booked the table for 3 by telephone the previous day which was a very lengthy process and kept hanging on. Very loud music playing on arrival which was quickly turned down as we were seated in the restaurant where only one other couple were eating. One drink requested from the bar was not available. We selected our choices from the menu and then told there was no fish available with the explanation that a large party had all just ordered it. Our requests were then accommodated well and the main course was enjoyed. The staff were very polite and helpful but we had to laugh when my husband asked for the cruet and had to explain what he meant. A request for a little more sauce was also forgotten until half way through the meal. The setting lacked atmosphere and we seemed the be the only people there, however he surroundings were very pleasant until towards the end of the meal when loud music was turned on again from behind the bar which made us all jump. In summary, the waiting staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was good but the overall experience will not make me...

Falsely accused of theft!

Revising my previous review of 5* review due to an unacceptable event on the evening of 19 Sept '18.

-- After a pleasant meal out in our local pub, my wife and I were challenged in the car park for not paying our bill.

Being quite shocked, I explained to the staff member in question that she was mistaken and showed the card receipt (as per photo attached).

Obviously the staff member was quite embarrassed (which is fine) but then went on to justify challenging us because she mixed us up with "another party" who had just left without paying. Interestingly, as we were sat next to the main door all evening, I strongly suspect that this was not true.

Our nice meal out has been completely ruined by operational incompetence. My wife and I left feeling insulted.

We were planning our company Xmas dinner here (to the tune of a few hundred quid) but no longer.

We will be giving this place a wide berth for a few years.

Mistakes can be made (fine) but at least have the common decency to acknowledge properly and apologise accordingly. We received neither acceptable acknowledgement of the error or a suitable apology.

Dine at your own risk and keep...

A wonderful pub on the outskirts of Kelly bray/ Launceston. Nice sized carpark in front of the pub . On entering was welcomed by a friendly member of the team who gave us a choice of tables to sit at. Great choices of drinks and bar snacks aswell as a lunch/ dinner/ side order menu aswell as the very popular Sunday menu. Nice open bar area with a more intimate feel further into the pub for those cosy lunches/dinners. Another area with tables and also a bookshelf which also has boardgames for people to use, which is a great idea. There is a beer garden for those nice spring summer days and evenings. A perfect place to have your special occasion here whether it's for 2 or 12 people, they have your every need. Dogs are very welcome here and are fussed over as much as their owners 🙂 Very clean, very friendly and extremely welcoming. Wonderful staff indeed.

My wife and I had been meaning to stop here for a very long time. At last, we found the opportunity. The service staff were brilliant - very well-trained, I imagine. The menu, as you can see, is varied and reasonable in price. The wine list was not as extensive as some restaurants, but there was certainly enough choice. Both meals arrived before too long, despite being made to order, and were very tasty, but I found the broccoli undercooked. Some better cooked vegetables were promised and appeared before too long. We both really enjoyed our meals. Then I forced myself to order a pudding! The only criticism I could make is that the tables were not very far apart and, as it got busier through the evening, conversations overlapped, and we had to speak more loudly to each other.
