Won’t be returning. A shame to say but four on the table all agreed that we would not revisit again. Albeit there were Christmas parties, it was not that busy. Food was ordered. It was asked if just a meal of baby back ribs could be ordered instead of the additional chicken tenders as it was too big (no mention that it would still be charged for the full price). The mains were served. Chips were cold on two plates, vegetables cold on another plate. The ribs were sent back because the chips and onion rings were stone cold. Everyone else continued with their food and eventually a plate of hot chips and onion rings were served… minus the ribs. I asked where they were and the waitress said I had eaten them all! I said I hadn’t and had only eaten three or four because the rest of the meal was cold which was why I went to the bar to get a member of staff to rectify the issue. No update was given but 15 mins later a plate of ‘fresh’ ribs was served but I was told there would be a charge added for these. I said they could have them back if I was being charged. I hadn’t finished the ribs I’d originally ordered and the issue was everything else. Apparently I was ordering an additional rack of ribs as I had finished the others which certainly wasn’t the case. The waitress then asked the rest of the table their feedback of which some of the food was cold on each plate served. After this there were no more visits to our table. I would have liked to order more drinks but we even had to go to the bar for the bill as we were now being ignored. I didn’t expect to be charged full price for the ribs when the chicken was not part of the meal. I certainly didn’t expect to be charged fully following the cold food and the feedback of this. Maybe a drink or something taken off the bill would have been a suitable option due to the lack of service? It wasn’t handled well and I felt somewhat insulted. I notice that management has changed and Steve could have come over to the table to rectify things. All in all poor service, poor food and...

The stag was always our first place to go for food. Since being taken over we we went in once wasn't busy at all..sat in the conservatory(the only ones in there)there was a few dirty tables with glasses plates left..even though a few members of staff were around not one even bothered to clean it... The food and service was great but generally felt the place needed good clean... We believe that any business deserves 2nd chance and especially due to the roadworks causing problems for the owners so we thought we would try again.... Wish we hadn't.....our first impression when we walked in the back door was the mat covered in dog hairs..the pub had only just opened so that wasnt a great start....2 young girls had no customer service skills...the young boy was great..well done to him... 2 roast dinners...the yourshire pudding were cold, the rest was warmer but not hot..the seats had dried food I had to wipe the seats down...the place generally felt unloved and cared for and not the lovely feeling the stag gave in the past...then to top it off I dropped the menu on the floor...after picking it up from under the table it was wet with all dog hairs stuck to it.....NEVER again,we paid the bill and left....

This is such a shame as it was such a lovely place...and still could be if cleanliness and customer service...

I have been to the Stag Inn on a number of occasions so when my daughter & her family came over for the weekend I happily booked a table for eight on the Sunday for 1pm. Usually a waiter/waitress comes to our table for drink orders but not this time, we had to keep going to the bar, When someone eventually took our food orders two had starters, main meals were not served for a total of 1hr 20mins The inside was stifling, I did ask a waiter if a door could be opened, which he did but it was soon closed by another customer The table when leaned on was wonky, my Grandsons chair was broken & on the whole not a good experience at all It was not that busy so not sure what the problem was If the food had been good perhaps all this wouldn't have mattered but it wasn't. My gammon steak was very fatty. We have definitely had better times...

went for Sunday lunch and wow it was amazing. I started with the cabin fries the were delicious, my partner went for the garlic mushrooms great flavours and textures. The main event lamb roast great lots of sliced lamb, mash and roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage and peas homemade Yorkshire pudding, delicious hot and all cooked perfect. (the photos of the roast dinner taken after I started eating sorry). I skipped dessert but my partner had the baileys cheesecake and he loved it. last but not least the service was excellent throughout, friendly and genuinely cared about you.

We were over for the takeover. As it was an early start, we fancied breakfast & saw the Stag advertised on the road. So we gave it a shot & was not disappointed. The service was fast, the food was fresh & hot .The plate was filled with food. And the guy who served us was friendly & chatty. The pub itself is decorated nice & is clean. This is one of the best breakfasts we have had in a very long time. I can happily say we left with full belly's & recommend to a few other people from the show.

Shared a meal with two friends at The Stag and stayed for the themed Quiz. Good night, enjoyable food, prices reasonable. Only just got the menus and the waitress was a little too eager asking us for our choices. Accommodated tweaks to the meals but when swapping out an item with my dessert I got charged for the replacement item, would have been nice if they'd told me that was going to happen.
