The Stag Inn — Restaurant in England

A lovely little rural pub with a outdoor seating area and off street parking. Has a lovely old feel to it with exposed wooden beams and a nice cosy feel to it. I went with my partner for a private function where they closed the pub just for our group and it was very pleasant. The food was a homemade finger buffet type thing but there was more then enough for us all and the selection of drinks was excellent, my only gripe (and it a very minor one to most) is i would have liked a selection of alcohol free drinks other then the usual tea, coffee, soft drinks.

(UPDATE i must of not seen the drinks or mistook them..... didnt ask because the gentleman serving us was busy so thats my bad, sorry)

As of this review ive been told its been taken over by a local couple who are respected in the village and are putting there all into it and it shows, if your in the area give it a try and you may just find its one of the "hidden gems" you sometimes find off the...

Food was incredible, and when the chef found out one of our party was coeliac he came out and spoke to her and created a meal specifically for her which was lovely. But then we later ordered a dessert that was marked as gluten free on the menu, and after it had arrived and been started, we double checked that the item was in fact gluten free, and the waitress went and checked with the kitchen and came back and said no, they’ve just changed the menu and that gluten free icon was left in accidentally and it did in fact have gluten. She hadn’t had the cake part of the dessert yet which was very lucky, but it could have been bad and the staff were not apologetic and still charged us for the dessert.
