Decided to take a walk with my parents in Easter Saturday and it had to not be too long. Found a lovely walk in Birstwith and of course needed a pub for afterwards! The Station was very quiet which was fantastic for us with 3 dogs. We'd reserved a table and were a little late. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I was surprised how quiet it was given the lovely weather and they have a fair bit of outside drinking/dining space. Food was nice. Ok not spectacular but then having only eaten one meal we can't really judge. Met the chef who is from Somalia originally. Really lovely guy and some different aspects to the menu due to him using some ingredients/items with a Somalian twist. I think it would be nice if he could add a few more unique dishes actually. Always fab to have something different. Dog friendly, has vegetarian/vegan choices and also very smart, clean toilets! A lovely little find overall.

A typical british pub but fantastic staff that make the pub incredible. I've tasted lager shandy's all across the country but this is definitely in the top 5% that I've tried. They have an amazing deal on thursday for steak night, 2 steaks with all the extras and a bottle of wine for only £20. I recommend this pub so much for a beautifully cooked meal with a gorgeous aesthetic. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

Superb place. Had a fantastic Boxing Day meal here and it was full of flavour and cooked to perfection by a chef who is clearly a true expert using quality ingredients. Friendly staff bent over backwards to assist in any way they could, restaurant was modern, extremely clean and welcoming. I can't think of a better place to eat in Harrogate or the surrounding area. Not to be missed.

Been twice now. Food is excellent 👌 😋 First visit was a fixed 2 course lunch either starter and main or main and pudding. Warm and very tasty with excellent ingredients well seasoned and flavour combinations

Second visit was Sunday lunch same 2 course option menu. Again excellent ingredients well packed with flavour and taste Mine came out not as warm as I was expecting but it was busy and may have cooled on the hot plate waiting for us to finish our starters as there was a lot of us. A boost of warm gravy would have helped warm it up better. It didn't take away the lovely quality and taste of the well presented food and I asked the staff to pass on my Thanks to the chef. No WiFi in the area as you go into a bit of a dead zone didn't bother me. You don't go for WiFi. There's parking for you Toilets Bar and access at rear doors for wheelchair access. Can't use cash only cards A bit of a bug bare of mine as I think you should have the choice They take cash for a tip which made me chuckle but you can't buy a drink with cash Would definitely recommend this Station pub In Birstwith for a meal drink cannot say what rooms are like as we haven't stayed but would think excellent as the establishment is very clean and well run and looks really nice and cosy. Will go...

Its interesting to see other poor reviews of late!

I went on 18th Feb in the afternoon. We used to go every fortnight. I have recently been extremely ill and am slowly reintroducing food. I therefore asked for a child's portion (I was happy to pay extra for an 'adults option') to which I was initially told an adult was not allowed to have a child's portion! I suggested my husband and I find an alternative establishment and suddenly I was permitted to have a small portion! I think this was a bitter submission as we then proceeded to wait for people who came in after us were served.

We had to go to the bar for drinks service - normally all service is at the table.

I don't think one person knew what the other was doing and staff were openly being rude to one another.

My husband's food (adult portion from the adult menu/full price) had been cooked to death and had zero taste! I have never been so disappointed at service, attitude of staff and quality of food! I would give this place a wide berth until they can give...

We went to this place to celebrate my mother in-law's birthday. It is in a lovely country side with picturesque views. We had a booking for 07.45 pm and we were directed to our table straight away. We were asked for our drinks and shortly after our drinks arrived our order was taken. My husband even got his second drink served. But that was more or less the whole activity for the next hour. When our order was served it was quarter to 09.00pm. My mother in-law's dessert was wrong (ice cream instead of the cream that she asked), although our coffees were good. When paying, my husband was asked if everything was OK apart from the late service with no apologies. My hake was a bit bland and the stakes my husband and his mum had were not the best cut of the animal. Although the starters look adventurous, the main courses are just ordinary pub food with not much imagination. They offer gluten free and vegetarian food but no salads neither in the starters nor as a main course. I am afraid we won't...
