If you have any allergies or any food intolerances, please be aware, the kitchen know NOTHING about cross contamination risk.
I have coeliacs disease and my body internally attacks the stomach lining and all the vili and my gut, if I pass any gluten through it. Thus making me very ill and alot of toilet time!
I ordered from the Gluten Free menu, and advised the waitress I am coeliac, where she also wrote down on the order tab with my meal choice. The kitchen had been made aware that my meal had to be prepared gluten free, however this was not the case. It would appear they chose to ignore this, and have not been trained on the big impact a small tiny mistake can make! I got part way through only to find a piece of macaroni pasta amongst my meal.
I sent this meal back, waited for maybe a manager, or chef to come over to apologise, but there was nothing.
They have a good gluten free menu, however, it has put all trust in the pub to a completely new level. Not only that, shows the management can't be bothered to address this to the customer with an apology of the mistake.

Read moreVisited with family party of 9 ppl including 1 wheelchair user and 1 infant. Much appreciated that they were able to take our large party booking which was last minute following a family function the day before, especially in the lead up to Xmas on a Saturday. Menu was basic pub grub with plenty enough choice but good quality, hot and food was good. I had chicken curry which was lovely and others enjoyed the lasagna and fish and chips. Portions generous. Service decent and our food came in a timely enough fashion and simultaneously. There was a service charge but would say prices were pretty average and decent enough value for money. Easy to park. My father is a wheelchair user and the ramps, doorways, toilet etc worked well for him despite it being an older building with plenty of character. There were also baby change facilities in the disabled loo.Quite old fashioned decor but kind of part of the charm of a traditional...
