It was ok and perhaps only saved by the food they served. The room was not nice. Dated and not like the pictures I saw when booking. The shower was horrible, it hardly had any pressure and only one temperature, boiling hot. The shower curtain was very mouldy and should just be thrown away and replaced. The mattress was also hard and springy and the tv was tiny. The room had all the amenities but it was all just ok. I would visit the pub again but would not stay again.

Had lunch and a pint here today. I noticed a few people from the centre next door, they must do well when their cafe is crowded. Service was fast and efficient and staff very helpful, but unfortunately they only had one real ale but a reasonable range of beers. Tried the steak pie which wasn't too bad.

They were able to accommodate our last minute booking of 10 despite already having a large booking of 13 at a similar time (we had phoned multiple places and kept getting turned away!) Food was fantastic and great value. The pie and mash was amazing!! Dog friendly too! Thank you again.

Got this booking for one night, arrived around 6pm after a long day to be told that no food was available as they had just taken over and did not have a chef, fair enough. So asked if anything nearby, more interested in telling the couple of guys at the bar about her partner had covid! Really cold in the place ,showed me my room to be fair she took my bag up for me which was very nice of her.went about 15 mim drive to find somewhere to have food. On my return bar was closed so I asked if I could heating on in my room and she did come up and tried to put it on.this was only about 7.30 ,nothing happened with heating so couldn't get shower it was really cold ,room was very tired and basic, no pictures on the walls nothing, tv was tiny but thought oh well get under the cover and watch it. Couldn't hear it very quiet sound. No Internet password, no staff to ask ,landlady doesn't live on site...,didn't have much sleep as so cold. Went down at 8 am as was told breakfast was after 8 .no menu just asked what do you want ? .must say the lady serving breakfast was really nice Ella .had to ask her a few times if I could have a coffee as the sachets in the room were awful cheap ones ,and she agreed, so made me a coffee. Breakfast was lukewarm but had a little of it to warm me up..would I go again ...

Having happened upon the Stokesay Inn on a getaway to Shropshire, we went in on the off chance that we could get a quick drink and a snack before our walk back to the campsite we were staying at. Asking if there was food, we were told that it was only pork baps and roast potatoes on the menu that day. Not wanting a full meal, the lovely gent behind the bar was more than willing to do just a portion of roasties for us. They were genuinely the nicest roast potatoes I've had in some time. Hot and fresh too! We also got 2 ciders and 2 soft drinks, all reasonably priced 😀 Sitting out in the glorious sunshine, before the weather took a turn.. delightful!

Didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.

It wasn't busy, but could have been as it was earlier in...

Bedroom was clean and so was the en-suite. Clean towels, bed-sheets and all shampoo/soap provided. Prices were fair. On my stay it was quite at night. There is also free Wi-Fi available. On this visit I did not try the food but I will the next time. The location is great. Stokesay Castle is not far away and there are some lovely open scenic walking paths behind the Stokesay Inn. There is a fish and chips shop very close-by and a supermarket so everything is within range. The local architecture is very nice too - very gothic/medevil/victorian.

One thing that would have been nice to have would have been food delivered to your bedroom. Like food service. Looking forward to the next time.

Edit* To update I have now had a second visit and all was...
