The Swan Inn — Restaurant in England

On first impressions this pub seems to be in every sense of the word a very traditional and historic pub. So we decided to head off our scheduled journey for a spot of lunch. From the outside the Swan Inn is beautifully presented and very welcoming with lots of information for customers regarding food and beverages etc and a warm welcome from a very friendly cat, much to our content. Unfortunately that's where the warm welcome ended for us..if anything we felt a little unwanted by the guy who was serving behind the bar..customer skills left us feeling a little underwhelmed (maybe a bad day) we all have them from time to time but as we witnessed the same attitude with the next two customers we felt that this is maybe the norm.

That said we ordered food ( we had been driving for a few hours and where famished) The food arrived promptly and was hot but unfortunately that's where the good news ended. All the meals had issues from well overcooked to soggy pastry and the pasta did not leave a nice taste to say the least very bland indeed. With that said we left with a lesson learned. Reviews are certainly not always correct and I feel that with all considered 2 stars reflect the look of the pub and the great selection of beer and the lovely cat. Unfortunately we will not be returning but I'm certain they will not be bothered about that...

I didn't even want to leave 1 star but had too! We was on a family day when we drove past this pub. We walked in and the man behind the bar wasnt very nice.. He said he couldn't seat 10 of us and didn't even say sorry.. He was a very rude man who then stood at the window smiling whist severing his customers.. Looking on other reviews he seated 12 people without booking.. I think these people need to take a look there customer skills.. Wouldn't be surprised if the other 'positive'...

Turned up for food after confirming prior on a phone call. Me and my partner walked in to grab a menu as we were sitting outside. My partner had a mask on, I didn't as I am medically exempt. I was immediately questioned as to why I didn't have a mask on. I explained I was medically exempt but still the bar tender was very rude and refused to serve me. He said he didn't care to government guide lines and when questioned as to why he said off you go. To which I got angry...
