Just off the M4 so a really convenient place to meet. Took the dog for a walk along a public footpath around a beautiful field before taking her to this dog friendly pub where I met up with family I had the small portion of scampi and chips which was perfectly adequate and left space for the delicious lemon torte 😋 On a previous visit I had the lamb stew with bubble and squeak which was especially good. The staff are friendly and the service excellent. There is a real country feel to the pub, especially in the winter when the fire is lit 🙂

Lunch was really substantial and nice to find something a bit different on the menu - liver and mash followed by treacle tart with jam in it - delicious. We drove from Ludlow as my friend’s 3 yr old had lost his fav soft toy (in a pit stop during a type 1 diabetic hypo). A very kind person at the pub drove twice to the nearby lay-by and found it. The pub was an unassuming gem with great service too.

Delicious food and great service. We found this little gem on our way back home from London, we stopped here instead of the Services on the M4. Omg soooo much nicer!!! We had the Sunday lunch and it was one of the nicest roast dinners we've had in a very very long time. 10/10 would recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again the next time we're passing.

Met friends here as arranged at 1pm on a Friday (booked a table about 2weeks prior), a lady took our order for a meal and drinks promptly but unfortunately the service particularly went downhill after that, around 45 minutes after ordering we received our meals after asking why was the food taking so long, they then came straight out with it apologising that the kitchen was stacked with orders, well it was virtually dead inside the pub but thought maybe loads of people in beer garden? However our meals were only warm rather than hot so meals were just left in Kitchen was more than likely the reason! No one came over to check we were ok with our food or asked if we wanted more drinks in that time. We were asked if we wanted desert and ordered promptly, another 30 minutes later the deserts finally came out, 3 hot deserts were only luke warm. If you have bookings or it’s going to be a nice day where people are going to venture out for lunch then get more staff!! Only 1 lady serving and I person behind the bar (assumed the landlord) we’d been here before a number of times without a problem but this time the service was dreadful and the food wasn’t much better. Don’t know how you will cope on Sunday with the Roast Dinner brigade turning up!! More staff is definitely needed!! It’s a shame but we won’t be...

I'm afraid our experience was very poor. We arrived at the tally orderd drinks etc. Sat down at 19.30 ordered meals ten minuets later. After an hour our food arrives after people who came in after us had got food before us. I had a burger and cut into it and it was raw. Don't the cook use a thermometer to check these things. I have to say the barman was ok and the waitress. But if the cook cannot cook a burger then get rid of him. So as we were going west on m4 we called at Membury and discovered Harry Ramsdens I was very impressed there were six in front of us, they cooked the fish from fresh and we had a first class meal within ten minuets. I feel our visit to the tally was very annoying to say the least. I am a very patient person and a chef. I feel they stole an hour of our life. Now for trip advisor. Far to many people call cooks chefs these days they don a set of cooks clothes and can't even...

We've driven past this delightful pub many times on our way to Hungerford, however never actually visited! As such, we booked a table for two at the last minute, and a dog. A couple of hours later, and we were in The Tally Ho for our September 'date night' meal, with the dog! Upon arrival, the car park had lots of space, and the owners loved dogs, so all was good....The pub was busy with diners and drinkers which, for mid-week, was very nice to see. The menu was traditional pub food, and there was a specials board too....I went for the steak, and my wife went for the scampi. BOOM!!!!...at last, a local traditional English pub which serves lovely traditional food as you'd expect!! Good portions; lots of sides; fabulous flavours; proper puddings; honest prices. We were very impressed with both the food and the service too, so will definitely be...
