As a Texan revisiting after 25 years away, my recent experience at this 400-year-old pub left an indelible mark, making it a sentimental return to one of my family’s favorite haunts when we lived in England in the 1990’s. The experience was every bit as good as I recall.
The Thatched Tavern's ambiance is nothing short of enchanting. Stepping inside is like going back in time, with its low ceilings, ancient rafters, and a cozy warmth that immediately envelops you. The friendliness and genuine warmth of the staff was impressive. Despite being thousands of miles from home, the team at The Thatched Tavern made me feel like a cherished guest. Their attention to detail and dedication to ensuring a delightful experience made the perfect evening as I reminisced about prior visits to the tavern with my parents. I could feel the spirit and presence of my mother, who is no longer with us, as I dined once again at a place that was a treasure to her.

Booked in for 1pm for a Sunday roast for 10 people and we left at 5pm - we waited and waited and waited - we did get 2 bottles of red and a free banana split as a gesture of goodwill but this was an 80th birthday celebration - not impressed!! Wouldn’t go back I’m afraid

Your right it did take 30 mins to select our meals but had you said that there was a time limit then we would of chosen quickly, your running a restaurant do you not anticipate for these types of issues? It was just the lack of communication from your servers that was the issue, we finished our 1st course and had to wait a while for it to be taken away then a chesse board turned up after an hour and we all said we were waiting for our mains, then several different staff came and said that it was coming - it was all just very disorganised

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome, and despite being fully booked, the service remained attentive and seamless throughout. The atmosphere was inviting, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing meal.
Now, onto the food. Every dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor in every bite.
