Went for a meal and signed up to Vintage Inns where you receive £10 off your meal if you spend over £40 (easily done today). My wife and I had rib eye steak with triple cooked chips. We had the beef dripping sauce ( not a patch on Miller and Carters), but ok. The food was served quickly and was hot, and the steak was cooked perfectly for me (medium rare). I say anything was bad at all with the food. Nicely cooked and hot, just how it should be! The young lady who served us was polite and not too invasive whilst we ate. She asked if everything was OK and then left us. After we finished, we were left for a while and not hasselled too soon as a lot of places do. We then had the coffee and pudding, which, for me, is perfect. After this, we sat a while and again were not hasselled. The only reason for 3 stars for the atmosphere was that a table close to us and 3 children on. I had nothing against children in the restaurant, but they were screaming and kept getting down from the table. I admit not their fault, but the parents. The parents were at fault here, and their idea of parenting was to chuck their phone to them to keep them occupied (seems to be the norm today). And yes, I have had children myself so understand. Apart from that we would go again but a bit later (we booked for 18.30). Overall, very good and reasonable prices....

Visited here twice. First in May was a great experience and last Sunday not great at all. Review below is from last Sunday Location - excellent. Very close to Moors valley country park Ambiance - amazing spacious garden and dining area in front with mature vegetation and nice inside as well. Food - very good : for the items that actually arrived Service - problematic, due to logistics not necessarily behaviour of the staff.. A. Ordered and paid for multiple items on the app that the signs instruct to order from * 25 minutes* after ordering, waitress came to advise us some of the items for one of our vegan company weren't available. No offer of refund. Fortunately we were able to shift some food around. B. As one of the substitutes, Ordered burger with no cheese due to an allergy. Arrived (one hour after the original order entry) with cheese. Scraped off what we could but still have the allergy -sniffles a week later C. Side order of pigs in blankets never arrived at all. (When suggested to substitute with a beer the waitress obliged)

Recommendation: 1. Abandon app if it doesn't have an accurate inventory 2. Write down the manual orders to avoid missing 3.. advise patrons if food will take more...

We had a lovely pre booked weekday family meal here (4 Adults, 2 children) whilst away on holiday in the new forest. We were greeted at the bar as we walked in and promptly shown to our table. The lady serving our table was very nice and very helpful when asked for information about the menu. We ordered our drinks which were almost instantly delivered to us. The menu has a good variety to suit most, Food was brought out fairly quickly and was of a high standard and I would highly recommend the beef and red wine lasagna. Very clean and well kept. Easy access by car with plenty of parking available I felt it was priced well for the high quality of food and brilliant service (not cheap but not massively expensive). Definitely would recommend and definitely would visit again.

It was our second visit to this pub and I’m afraid it will be the last one. We have ordered a soup of the day and tomato arancini for starters. It was a cauliflower soup with no significant taste. The only plus was that it was hot and it came with a slice of bread. The other starter was arancini balls. I was really surprised when it was served: two little balls (the last time I ate there they served 3, which is still expansive for what it is) … for £7,25. Total rip off. A joke. For the main course we have ordered lentil lasagne. We left most of it as it was sweet! The decor inside was nice but it was really cold and we had to put the jackets on after 10 minutes. Overall disappointed.
