Took some of my family here today for a roast & we were really looking forward to it from the reviews I read , staff were very polite but the roast was awful the potatoes were deep fried & the veg was very over cooked (what little veg you did have, about 10 cubes of swede a tiny bit of white cabbage & limp carrots) & that was there large roast @ £10.25 , the stuffing balls were black as I think were deep fried as well really really poor & my 20 mth old grandson had chicken nuggets & chips & the chips were so overcooked he couldn’t eat them infact the smell of the deep fryer was awful as well 😩 I think the chips were so dark the fat possibly needed changing by the smell coming from the kitchen , overall not a very good experience at all so I’m afraid will not be returning, I actually come away & wished I had made a complaint but stupidly paid the bill & left ( actually asked us to pay before we ate ) I very rarely leave reviews but I thought...

Given 2 stars for the beautiful log burner and the pie which was very nice.

Unfortunately the table we were sat on completely Wobled up and down serenading on who lent more. which to be fair we didn't mention so perhaps our own fault for not asking to move tables. I couldn't decide on what to eat so chose the beef burger and the fish. The burger was of poor quality and the fish tasted far too oily/watery although the batter was nice. The staff were friendly although when asked about our food and we mentioned the soup was tasteless the response we got was "well that's probably because I didn't cook it". If you want a drink beside afire in a dated interior this may work for you. If you're after a nice place for some food after a long day. Perhaps give it a miss or just stick to the pie.

Just overall a poor experiance when weatherspoons seems lixery...

Waited approx an hour for food. Asked for some bread and butter and expected sliced baguette and butter pieces. Got white sliced bread and spread. Finally, the food arrived. My husband ordered mixed grill medium rare. Not so.... The meat was chewy and unrecognizable..., Just slabs of tough meat. I wanted a homemade lovely dinner so ordered the Chicken and Mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and peas. I expected a pie in a pot with mashed potato on the side and peas in a side dish. It came out in a BOWL all squashed together and covered in cheap gravy. No chicken..... Just mushrooms in a squish slice of so called pie. Traveller's...

Nice dog and human friendly pub. Dogs were given treats on our second visit. The local ales from the island are good value at £3.50 a pint. Timothy Taylors Landlord is however overpriced at £4.70! Food was excellent. Generous portions and good value. I tried the home made soup with freshly baked roll and home made croutons, large fish and chips (skins on), peas (not mushy), salad garnish, and slice of lemon/tartare sauce. Highly recommended just for a drink or a meal/drink.

Great cosy little pub been here few times always greeted with the smile. Today was my second roast dinner at the traveler’s and I must say this one is my favourite place to go for the home made roast dinner on the island. Chicken was tender gravy and veg were hot and Yorkshire pud was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside same as roast potatoes. Well done to the team for keeping it consistency.

Wow - massive thumbs up to the Travellers Joy, they hosted our touring Rugby U7’s team of players and family’s for a Saturday night meal. The team were a pleasure to deal with before the day, very good communication. We were able to pre order and everything was as ordered and on time! Many thanks, maybe next time when the kids are older we will be able to stay for open mic night 👍🏻
