This is a great pub for Sunday lunch but I am marking it down after having had the Vegan burger option. This is usually what I end up having at most pubs due to a dearth of plant based options. The main problem was that the Moving Mountains burger was deep fried and consequently not that good and I was really disappointed. The bun was a brioche which usually is made with egg and milk and there was coleslaw on the side, again, usually made with dairy products. I admit that I didn’t check on the bun as I hadn’t eaten all day and was so hungry that I just got on with eating it. But I wouldn’t order that again. The only other options were a pie with sweet potato, butternut squash and spinach, 3 bean chilli minus sour cream or a plain salad. Obviously if you eat meat and fish then you will have plenty of choice. This isn’t intended to be negative against the Trelly … just, if you are looking for plant based, your options are limited and the burger is...

The veg and gravy is then brought out to you on a separate tray, along with the gravy (Veg gravy supplied without being asked if you order a Veggie roast, which I thought was a nice touch). There’s also a note on the menu saying if you want extra veg, then just ask.
The food was piping hot (as I like it) and there was an excellent selection of seasonal veg too.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, a a small reduction of the menu price for a veggie option, which was appreciated.
Well worth a visit, and definitely a...
Read moreGreat gluten free options, plenty of choice and the quality of the food was great. The staff are really friendly and helpful, the food is delicious with generous portions so can't fault this pub. Had GF fish and chips as a main, crispy batter and perfect chips. Fish batter not as dark as non-gf batter but this is because they use soda water instead of beer in the batter. They use separate fryers so no contamination issues. Desert was lemon roulade. I'm not generally a desert kind of person but this was really nice - a good mix of sweet, zingy and bitter. Was delicious and I'd recommend to any coeliac that is...
