Sadly had a disappointing experience. Our first server was nice and attentive, the other wasn’t very pleasant. Two members of the party shared the Tomahawk steak, it was undercooked but the nice server kindly brought it back to get cooked further. Sadly it was still a bit raw (pic included) as we asked for Medium but that was okay not the best but not a huge deal. We weren’t offered steak knives or told about the optional service charge as other tables were, so it felt very much like other tables had a kinder service. We asked for all of our leftover food to be taken away and some uneaten food was not boxed up. The Hull Pattie was completely left out despite having been uneaten. The overall experience was uncomfortable. With rude looks by other patrons to the less than kind server barely acknowledging or taking our cash payment from us (I wasn’t sure what to do with it so popped it next to her on the bar after motioning to give it to her 🤷‍♀️), I was taken aback by the bad atmosphere. I get the staff are young but the highschool era service really left us wishing we took the service charge off instead of paying for it :/ But to be honest we wanted to leave as soon as we could.

Hard to give a reasonable assessment as this was the first day of opening after the latest lockdown 12/04/21. All the usual precautions in place and a marquee has been erected, this was well attended, I sat outside in the sunshine. Registered my details and my order was taken, on this occasion no table pre-booking was required, one pint and I was on my way. It's a step forward but a long long way from a 'normal' visit to the pub as I never actually set foot inside the place. But at least it's a start.

Won't be rushing back to spend another ÂŁ300. Food was good, but not worth the prices. 2 x scallops, 1 over cooked, 1 under cooked..this is after mine was forgotten so assume that's why under cooked. My son ordered a medium sirloin..it was rarer than my medium rare Tomahawk. Steak knives had to be asked for also. Service was ok, nothing worth shouting about. Overall..ok/ good. Nothing amazing, which I was hopeful after looking at online menus

I came to the Triton Inn for my birthday occasion with my partner and her parents. The starters were as expected (good quality) however we ordered scallops and only got 2 on the plate. I have been to this pub numerous times and ordered this starter before and had 3 scallops in the past - so why 2 now?

We also asked for olives to come early to the table just before our starters and this didn’t happen.

For mains me and my partner had fillet steaks and quite frankly the were awful. I asked mine to be medium and it was medium rare and further to this the outside was crispy & tough - not how steaks are meant to be.

My partner complained about hers and asked if we could have it removed from the bill as she choose not to eat it because of how tough and crispy it was. The waiter then said she would ask the manager for approval.

A few minutes later the manager came through and said quote “all the kitchen staff agree the steak is cooked fine and we’ve served 28 tonight with no issues so therefore on this occasion we will not be removing it from the bill”. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name but she’ll know who she is. I think this is probably this worst attitude I have ever experienced in a restaurant and particularly for a restaurant like this it is disgraceful service.

The ‘manager’ then proceed to argue back to us about how her staff were right and this is nothing wrong with it - I won’t be coming here again for food. I really cannot get over how rude she was, I will really remember her face and her attitude towards me and my family on my birthday. This is probably this worst experience I have had for a sit down meal - it’s the pure fact she argued back with us until we had just had enough and wanted to leave.

-If triton would like to contact to perhaps resolve this please do...

We arrived for our lunch that was booked at 1:00 half an hour early. We were happy to wait but were told we were okay to take our table.

We were still waiting for 3 other people to arrive so thought we’d just have a drink and order food when they got here. When we got to the table there weren’t enough chairs or places set for us either. We were asked far too many times if we were ready to order. We appreciate it’s good to be attentive but it was just too much & was asked with pretty much 5 minute intervals by the same servers? Was just a bit odd.

When the rest of our party arrived we ordered & the food was nice.

Overall we didn’t feel attitude from staff was great, not all just certain individuals. It didn’t seem like anyone was communicating, we had food for a different table brought to our table by the same server that took our order 5 minutes earlier & staff seemed confused. The atmosphere was quite chaotic.

After food we were asked about desserts again so many times. We had 2 young children with us too and it all just felt very rushed. We ordered 2 coffees at about 2:40. About 10 minutes later we still hadn’t got the coffee’s and were then told they needed the table back at 3 and it should say in the confirmation email. We said we wish we’d have been reminded as we wouldn’t have ordered coffee’s and then felt again like we were rushed.

With the fact that we’d rushed drinking our coffees we then had to chase the bill with multiple staff members & ended up having to go to the bar to pay. We opted not to pay the optional 10% service charge.

Wouldn’t recommend if you want a calm relaxing lunch & didn’t appreciate the negative attitude from certain staff members. Maybe was just an off day but we don’t feel it’ll be somewhere...

Visited this place on Thursday the 15th of April just few days after lock down was lifted, booked a table early March and we were really looking forward to enjoy a nice meal out, when we got there we were told to just sit anywhere outside and order through a website, so we sat down and ordered our drinks, we waited half an hour and the drinks still haven’t came, so I went up to bar and asked for our drinks and they told me they didn’t receive our order so I showed them the email which clearly says that I have ordered and paid and my order was excepted, so after few times back and forth to the bar we finally got our drinks, and then we tried to order food and the order just wouldn’t go through, so I went up to the bar and explained, The manger then said, I’ll put your order through the till, so she did. To start with we got the scallops and crab and for main we got the chateaubriand steak M/R and two drinks to come with our steak, scallops where still raw in the middle and the crab was way too salty and the bread that came with the crab they were that hard they could break your teeth, and then steak which cost £55 came out cold and was a bit tough, so I mentioned it to the manger and her reply was it supposed to be cold 😂 I found that quite funny, so I said No it’s not supposed to be cold I have had this type of steak many times and was never cold, so then she blamed it on the weather, then I asked for our drinks that I ordered to come with meal bearing in mind we already finished eating until we got them, all in all the service wasn’t good and the food is very average very disappointed!! We have had many great experiences at this place before...
