Overall not great, it's a nice place, nice area, parking is ok. Inside it is nice and rustic, staff were pleasant enough, when ordering drinks make sure you double check as we had some items missing and at one point mid way through our meal we ordered a couple more drinks and they did not turn up. On to food, ordering food (especially if you have allergies) was good, can't fault them on that at all, the quality of the food isn't the best, (might be an off day as some of the food our party had was good, just would have been better if it was the whole dish and not an item or two). This is where I would say there is an issue and why I gave it three stars, if you have a large party they will not allocate you a larger time slot, they were very eager for our table and eventually asked us to leave (even though they kept asking if we wanted anything else), if we wanted a three course meal we would not have had enough time to eat it before they wanted the table, we had main, pudding and coffee and we can only eat and drink as fast as it would be served to us and we did not take the Mick with time. I did feel sorry for the young girl who was pushed (not literally) to tell us we had to leave the table, she was clearly uncomfortable doing so and wasn't told how to do it so it came out extremely rude. Overall I don't think I would go here to eat but it is nice enough to have a few drinks in. Updated: was invited out again the other day and it really wasn't great, staff were pleasant except for a question that shouldn't really be asked, if someone suffers from food allergies then please don't ask "is cross contamination ok?" because no it clearly isn't because otherwise I would eat whatever and then be dead. Food was the biggest let down (not just mine), I was given an alternative (due to allergies which is fine and normal for me) but they decided not to give me anything else that I was allowed to eat with it, I didn't know whether to be insulted, embarrassed or laugh, it was genuinely abysmal, I had to ask a staff member if I could have at least something to go with my toasted two pieces of bun with my chicken (chicken was fine as well as the substitution I had for the chips). Moving onto the pudding (was told I could eat all of what I wanted to order) I swear I only got half of what I was supposed to receive, don't know if they ran out of what was supposed to be with it or what? It tasted pleasant enough for what I did have, others of my party moaned that what was supposed to be hot wasn't at all. At least this time we weren't rushed and I'm glad that I didn't choose to go and eat here and that I was invited as if I did have a choice then I would choose not to eat here.

Having had previous poor experiences at the venue some 5 years ago; I was hopeful to have a better experience. I arrived early for pre Christmas meal drinks with work colleagues. The bar tender told me they served cocktails so I asked for a straight forward gin martini with 3 olives. No problem I will bring it over. After a short time my colleague came back from the bar with a yellow looking cocktail with a raspberry in it. They told me this was my drink a French martini (Vodka , Pineapple juice etc). I went back to the bar and explained this was not what I had ordered. The bar tender told me he couldn't help me and I would have to speak to the manager. There was no apology just the response that I could only have a drink off the cocktails menu. I was asked if I would like another drink and I said a gin and tonic with one of their gins. This was unfortunately there last bottle and they didn't have enough gin to make the drink. At this point I thought i'd wait til the meal. The meal its self was a bit chaotic with veg coming out way to early before the Christmas meal and hence the veg was cold. The meal itself was ok but 1 tiny pigs in blanket it was a bit of lack lustre affair. The turkey its self was tasty. As the meal progressed we decided to do a round of shots to celebrate the unusual year its been. I ordered a shot of Sambuca. I didn't get it. I asked the same manager that took my order where my drink was and was told all the drinks has been bought out. well I didn't get mine. Again no apology ; no offer to get the drink. Please go anywhere else for your Christmas meal - this place really gives the impression it does care with its lack of hospitality

Setup as a premium pub and in some ways it is Its well furnished nothing it tired and it looks very good The cutlery was clean and so was the table What was disappointing was the premium gin experience - they don’t have a menu it’s from their tablet and they hadn’t paired their tonics Many moons ago when I worked in a pub we were absolutely told not to pour the tonic into the gin as not everyone wants all of it Having gone for a double I was very disappointed to see a glass chock full of ice and tonic and tasted of nothing To be fair it was replaced - but should it have been served that way at all ? We ordered food - registered an allergy - that was shown on the ticket. It was very disappointing that this was overlooked but spotted - no real apology - just a oh don’t you want that then I personally hate the put chips in things trend - but when you get only 13 chips and 4 of them are like the picture it was very disappointing. There was no atmosphere in the pub and for a quiet day the service wasn’t great

I had been to the Warren a few years ago and found it ok nothing special just ok, so when I read it had been refurbished etc. I checked the menu on line and really like what I saw. Shame I will never get to try it as the staff and management have seriously put me off......

I booked a table here for 8pm last night to celebrate my birthday with some close friends.

We arrived at 7:50pm and went to the bar to order drinks, the bar was busy and lacking staff (only one bartender who was very slow). I went to let the restaurant staff know we had arrived and was greeted with a very snotty woman with a clip board who snapped wait a minute and walked off! None of the other serving staff even acknowledged me or smiled..... I eventually found a very miserable looking guy who told me my table was just finishing up and paying and would be 5 mins ..... not a problem I said and went back to my friends. 15 mins later I asked again if our table was ready to be told they were still just paying.... at 8:20 I asked again and was told they had just received their deserts and our table would probably be another 30mins!!!!!!!! At this point my party and I decided to leave!!! If I had want a 9pm table I would have booked one! Had I been told when I first asked about our table the wait would be nearly an hour we could have made our minds up as to whether to stay or not earlier.

As we had started a tab for drinks the management did agree to waive the charge on this tab as a consolation but only after I had asked for some compensation it was not freely offered as an apology!

The front of house guy was clearly under pressure but he also came across as if he couldn’t careless about us as customers and ruining a persons celebrations. At no point did he really apologise to me it was just a going through the motions I hate my job sorry type of apology.

Whe Warren is in a nice if remote location in wokingham and has the potential to be really good, shame the Management have badly let it down...... my friend even heard the snotty woman with a clipboard walk past a member of staff and say to her “for god sake smile” . The barman that served us was clearly struggling with the amount of customers and he said his shift was due to finish in an hour but that wasn’t going to happen...... the waitresses I did see looked really sad and overall the atmosphere was just slightly off. Hey ho guess it’s going to be a mother few years and a change of management...

Edit. Thanks for your response, originally this review was extremely negative because when we went we were not served for over an hour and it took a lot of staff chasing to get service, bills etc. Also one of our meals was missing a side (which were still charged for), missing a drink (which we were charged for) and the soup starter was basically a tiny tiny amount. My friend who's birthday it was has said that you have since replied and apologized for the bad service so I changed the review (but no mention of any refund haha) but there was still some silliness in the response..."reviewing our soup serving sizes", yeah more than a spoonful would be good, in this case they just didn't give a serving so that's just a silly answer. "we like to give our customers space when giving them the bill" we said we could pay immediately and we had to literally chase the waiter as he was walked away immediately so again that doesn't really apply. You asked if we were charged for things we didn't receive but there was no follow up after that which was very disappointing as it was an expensive meal. I think given how poorly the complaint was handled we just wont use you again as it does have the sense of "well we got the money now" attitude, gave it 2/5 as we eventually got a sort of apology and the food was good quality once it reached us (excluding the stuff we didn't get of course). Apparently the original complaint went to head office (?) but was completely ignored and then the follow up kind of addressed some of the complaint but had that stupid "reviewing serving sizes" answer. If you ordered a plate of chips and received..3 chips would that be a serious answer? The staff were pretty rude and dismissive as well, they seemed annoyed that we had asked about our orders, we did ask about the missing orders but assumed they wouldn't be on the bill (they were or course...). I think were it not for the complaint being pushed we never would have had a response from the Warren. We were planning on trying to book our work Christmas Party there but that kind of sounds like a...
