Took a friend today for a Summer Lunch in what I believed to be a lovely summertime setting. The food was just awful. Tiny little quiche, rock hard with virtually no but ‘dried out’ filling. It shot off plate when tried to cut. Slimy old ‘leaves’ one half of a cherry tomato & a lot of buttered covered potatoes. My friend had a very dried up piece of Salmon, not even a slice of lemon, boiled potatoes & peas. We both agreed one of the worst lunchtimes we had had & we do eat out in many places across the county. Although the waitress apologised & said she would tell the manager, who, when came to talk to us told us we were the first to complain & quite indignant that we had. The lady on the table next to us had salmon & said exactly the same to us that it was awful. We noted other tables had left food too. We went & paid & the manager charged us full price & didn’t have the courtesy of apologising. We would never recommend this place. We then went to The Buttery tearoom in Woodford for coffee… what a contrast… & noted how lovely the food looked that was being eaten (especially the salad & tuna) & were greeted with very warm smiles & very attentive service, we definitely will return to The Buttery & recommend...

Recent review (13/02/2025): We booked the Italian restaurant and it was the most amazing dining experience in our lives. I have tried plenty of restaurants in my life and this one is highly one of the best one. I dare to say this place is also the best Italian in Northamptonshire. You not just get amazing food - did I tell you how amazing their food is?!- but a proper dining experience. They make you feel like you are actually having an amazing dinner with an italian family. Friendly, professional with good humour. Not the snobbish way like some other expensive places.. This just felt perfect. Portions are good too. We had starter, main, dessert and drinks. All of them were amazing. I can not wait to visit again! Thank you for the whole team, you really are unique!!
Experience 5 months ago (August 2024): 5 months ago we have not realised that the Italian restaurant only opens at 18:00 so we accidentally booked their tea room. Yet we had a very good time. Food was very nice and the view to River Nene with swans was just so relaxing. Do not forget to have a little walk after you had your lunch, its a...
Read moreMy daughter and boyfriend took me and my husband out for brunch for my birthday. We ordered our food and then proceeded to wait around 50 minutes for the food, nobody apologised for the delay, they did bring the restaurant menu for us to look at whilst we were waiting. When the food came the 2 vegetarian breakfasts came with no beans so asked for the beans, still the beans did not arrive so had to ask again, they then came after the breakfasts had been finished. We asked for the drinks 3 coffees, a milkshake and and orange juice to be taken off the bill, 20 minutes later the bill came with the milkshake still on, we decided to only leave £50 which was the cost of all the food and took the milkshake off. The Manager was extremely aggressive, followed us out of the restaurant threatening to call the Police and saying he didn’t want customers like us back, well I can assure you, there is no danger of me ever...
