Really good quality food with friendly service.
I'd say great pub food but that feels like an undersell.
Between the four of us we had lamb and vegetarian Sunday lunch which came with generous servings of veg, including toasties and gravy. A nice big Yorkshire pud that was large without being ridiculous.
2 of us had the slow cooked BBQ pork which was outstanding as well.
The starters were every bit as good. While we didn't have desserts the menu was very tempting.
The service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing.
All in all was a superb Sunday Lunch choice at a reasonable price point. In our case it worked out at 2 courses and a couple of drinks was £25 per head.
Great value for money given the quality was really good.
Highly recommend it. We will be back and probably outside of a Sunday to try a few...
Read moreThe Wheatsheaf is a hidden gem! Their Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. We followed up with a delightful dessert to round out the perfect meal. We took part in a 5-mile hike around the lovely countryside that surrounds Langham afterwards to walk it all off!
If you're looking for a fantastic Sunday Lunch, I highly recommend giving The Wheatsheaf a try. You won't be disappointed!
The beer selection and quality on the day we visited (real ales) were OK to good, middle rating there, but I wasn't there for a session, so that didn't detract. The seating layout is not as cosy as it could be, but the staff were very accommodating when we called in for a beer after the walk, allowing us to sit in the dining area.
All round...
Read moreCame across this place whilst out on a drive on Sunday. I'm always a bit nervous about going into new pubs, that I've never been in before. I needn't have been, lovely friendly staff, welcome atmosphere and a beautiful open fire. Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. Chicken breast off the bone (yay, I hate meat on the bone) and it was, large and juicy. Vegetables were excellent, cooked to perfection and buttered 😋 stuffing balls, they were the best. My husband had the ribs, which he said were amazing. Puddings, treacle sponge and custard and bread and butter pudding with custard, great portions, soft, fluffy and absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place and even though we live near Loughborough, will...
