The White Hart Inn — Restaurant in England

What an absolute disappointment. Booked a table for 2pm for Sunday lunch taking our elderly parents and two other family members. Ordered drinks which come quickly but incorrect from what we ordered. Proceeded to order lunch. We sat and sat with different people coming and going ordering their dinner, being served and leaving. People coming in and ordering takeaways, getting their food and leaving. After 60minutes, I went to bar and said how long we had been waiting to be told that we were next to be served. 15 minutes later, still nothing. My husband at this point was absolutely furious and went to the bar to pay for drinks and.advise them that we no longer wanted the food due to the ridiculous amount of time we had been waiting and the amount of people who had come in after us and been served, eaten and left. He was told we were definitely next to he served but he said we were leaving and going elsewhere. There was no apology, no nothing only to be told it didn’t matter about paying for the drinks. Arrived at 2:50pm chose the bar area instead of the lounge, was immediately asked if we wanted a drink or food. We said we would have a drink and maybe food if we could have the menu. The waitress said, “Oh, no more food orders.” So we thought, “OK, we will just have a drink and go somewhere else.” 10 minutes later, a couple wandered in, and a different waitress approached them and ushered them to a table and began dressing the table ready for food. We asked this waitress, “Is there food available?” She said, “Yeah, it’s a Sunday dinner!!! Not sure the first waitress knew what day of the week it was, but one thing for certain is we will never go back, I’m afraid.” Sad really, as we drove all the way here from Middlesbrough. Not the best to be honest, another thing there was a large crowd of what must have been locals crowded around the tiny bar who were really loud and instead of chatting to themselves they were really audible above everything else so glad really we only stayed...

So pleasantly surprised how good this pub is, never been before, dined with friends who are regular visitors (dined 5.10.21)and regularly comment on Facebook on how good the food is. On entering we were nicely greeted by a young man and an equally friendly, attentive helpful waitress took our order and completely went out of her way to ask the chef to make something that wasnt on the menu at that time of the day. The food was amazing, absolutely delicious, especially the chips, perfectly cooked and generously served up in bowls. Very impressed how extremely clean the toilet facilities are and the immaculate appearance of the whole lounge / bar area, completely beautiful decor and not to mention the outside enclosed beer garden, utterly amazing......in all honesty we will definitely be returning, I've eaten in many pubs but this one definitely stood out as one of the best !!
