The White Hart is a real gem of a pub at the heart of the village of Chilsworthy. The building dates from the 1500's and retains much of its original character and charm. We drove up through Gunnislake to get there via a sat nav route that proved to be quite adventurous. Taking the longer route to approah from the west would definitely have been the better option. As holiday visitors we were warmly welcomed on arrival. It was a busy evening but service was efficient. We were quickly seated following a pleasant chat at the bar while our drinks were poured. There is an extensive menu of starters, mains and puddings. All homemade! As well as a specials board. We chose the goulash with herb dumplings and a lamb burger. Both proved delicious. As we paid our bill Amy chatted with us about our plans for the next day giving lots of ideas and local tips. When we left we walked further down the road to admire the spectacular view over the valley. I would highly recommend a visit to the White Hart. It would be a perfect stop on the Tamar Valley Discovery trail as well. Good value. Friendly service. Great food. All with an amazing view. What more could...

Had an outstanding Mothers Day lunch today ( last year 2024) , 3 courses with glass of Prosecco on arrival .. beautiful meal , really enjoyed it , best meal we have had in a very very long time . The service at the table was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble .. we had a little incident with our dog .. ie our fault , not dog , and drink went flying … 😬and they replaced it , much appreciated when totally our fault .. please pass on our appreciation to all members in team that made this a great day out ..especially the forgotten heroes in the kitchen … we’ll be back ! Whilst holidaying in Cornwall we had the good fortune to go to the white hart pub. Wednesday 28th September. Didnt book, just walked in on the off chance. We couldn't believe how busy it was for a mid week. I asked the waitress if they where doing food? She told me that the chef had called in sick and she would ask the landlady who was cooking if she could. Luckily she came back and said yes."Its going to be a bit of a wait but yes." I come from a little village in East Sussex called Rotherfield, when i was young the local pub, The George was the focal point of the village. Im not kidding, it was like being back there in The White Hart. The landlord Ian was so friendly, we where chatting with the locals like we where one of them. The food was delicious, a log fire blasting. All I can say is I wish I lived there!! It's like stepping back in time where people go out and socialise. Well done Ian and Katy you've cracked it. All the best Dave...

Where do we begin with our praise for what Ian, Katy & their staff are doing with this beautiful, rural pub. Having found ourselves staying in Chilsworthy by accident it ended up being the best thing that had happened. Situated in the heart of the village, what these fantastic people are doing for their community deserves more acclaim than I can write here. We turned up with our son, Josh... his girlfriend Ella... our two dogs, and didn't know a soul. We were welcomed with open arms and chatted to as if we'd been locals for years. Ian & Katy are your perfect hosts, and despite being hit with every hurdle possible during the last few years, have 100% put their lives up for their village. The pub is beautiful, the views stunning, atmosphere incredible.... and after one week we leave with the hosts now friends. A must visit to anyone coming down this way. You will not be disappointed. Went here for a wedding meal. We didn't book anything special, just a very simple meal with family. However, off their own back, the owners beautifully decorated the balcony for our meal. They literally went above and beyond all of our expectations. The food was delicious!!! I had lasagne and salad - the homemade lasagne was so yummy, but the salad was absolutely amazing!! It came with a large portion of chips too. I absolutely recommend this pub, the atmosphere is lovely, the food is yummy and the staff are welcoming and friendly!! BRILLIANT!!

Great food and a great family friendly atmosphere, with an amazing view whilst you eat. Visited with my family including children and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The Food was really yummy, home cooked food, and the selection was just right offering something for everyone. The portions were generous and the quality shone through every bite, with this in mind the value for money was outstanding. Would recommend this place for anyone in the area as it really is something special. I had the venison chilli and it was amazing!
