Visited on Saturday, April 20th. Very busy but found a nicely placed table outside, so we could enjoy the nice weather and let our dog have fresh air.

Beer was good, fair selection. My wife and myself both had Haddock and chips, delicious and served by a pleasant waitress.

The bar staff.... 1st guy, a middle aged guy who seemed to exhibit signs of a long day, lots of families and tourists I presume. However his 'Cameron from Modern family eyeroll' was perfect ๐Ÿ‘.. I'd simply attempted to order puddings and mains at the same time. How rude and stupid of me.

2nd visit to the bar, obvious regulars commenting on 'murders and f*g bin dippers' in reference to the exciting close to the EPL. I'm no shrinking violet but the pleasant elderly lady in close ear shot didn't need to hear that level of 'banter'

Next visit to the bar.. served by a younger guy who seemed just as harrassed as the older guy.... He had trouble finding the correct change and snapped at an middle aged female member of staff, after she failed to answer his request for 5p's. I was just about to say keep the change when he slammed the change down in front of me then turned away. Once again ... I'm no shrinking violet however I was looking forward to visiting this place. 2 1/2 stars given for the good food. a 'Paddington bear stare' for the 'Jimmy Tarbucks' at the bar. oh and 1/2 star for the harrassed and highly camp eye roll ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I won't be visiting again and I'd suggest Sutton Hall as an alternative to visitors from...

Booked to have a family Sunday birthday meal. Our booked table was located in the split between the bar and eating area. When we arrived there was a scattering of people with some dogs. Unfortunately there were a couple of dogs that just barked every time someone entered or a dog moved in the bar area. It was loud enough to interrupt our conversation and then become the topic of conversation. Our food arrived nicely presented. Soon after we started eating two people with a dog came to the bar adjacent to our table. Whilst they were sat at the bar the dog was left loose and came over and licked my hand as I was eating. I spoke with the owner but no member of the windmill came over to address the situation. Whilst the issue was caused by the dog owner The windmill need to take some responsibility, in asking if people want to sit in a dog area or not and ensure dog owners are responsible. The also didnโ€™t discuss it at the time of paying the bill, or ask if everything was ok, so I told them whilst very nice food the dining experience could not have worse. I was advised gratuity had been added and I paid the full ยฃ167 amount. All very matter of fact. I have lived locally all my 50 years and have irregularly visited the windmill, although this is most likely the last. If you donโ€™t want your meal interrupted by dogs barking and free to roam do...

The Windmill is everything you could want from a proper country pub. From the moment you step inside, youโ€™re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The service is always excellent โ€“ friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to see you โ€“ and the food somehow manages to get better and better with every visit.

As a family-run country pub, weโ€™ve been coming here for over 10 years and we love that the bar is dog-friendly (Woody feels just as welcome as we do!), though itโ€™s worth noting that dogs arenโ€™t permitted in the restaurant area โ€“ a fair balance that keeps everyone happy.

The Windmill also hosts regular events that add to the vibrant community feel. Whether it's quiz nights, live music, or special themed evenings, thereโ€™s always something happening that keeps us coming back.

The Sunday lunches here are truly phenomenal โ€“ generous portions, perfectly cooked, and easily among the best weโ€™ve ever had. Add to that a well-stocked bar with something for every taste (thanks to the Aspalls addition!), and youโ€™ve got the recipe for a perfect pub.

Itโ€™s no exaggeration to say that The Windmill is always our first choice when weโ€™re heading out for a beer garden drink, meal, special occasion or just one (ok, probably two!) on a Friday after work and we honestly canโ€™t recommend it...

I went to Manchester with my family to visit my Granny. We wanted to find somewhere to go so my sister found The Windmill on google. We get there and park in the carpark. We then go sit in the outside Country pub garden and order drinks and food(which the food and drinks were absolutly great and brought to the table. Then after eatting while still sat outside in the same place and a guy starts setting up speakers and brings a guiter out. Then he start playing the guiter and singing directly in front of where we were sitting. The guiterist and singers name is Martin Paul, I included him, my Granny and me in the photos. My granny clapped at the end of his first song and then the whole outside pub started clapping after all of his sounds he played. It was lovely! Absolutely amazing country pub and experence! Very highly recommended!!

Visited The Windmill Pub near Macclesfield Canal last Saturday evening with my granddad โ€“ his very first time experiencing a traditional British pub, and I couldn't have picked a better place. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. We were lucky to enjoy some great live music that added to the charm of the evening. The soup was delicious and comforting, and the pint of beer hit just the right note. It was a lovely experience overall โ€“ simple, authentic, and memorable. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a true local pub vibe.

We returned after a 3 month absence at our new home in Italy. A very friendly welcome from Pete, Cat, George & Linzi - Jane we missed you! A great selection of Beers ๐Ÿบ & a fantastic meal of Cheese & Garlic Bread, Beef Cheeks with potatoes & vegetables & Fish & Chips with a shared Sticky Toffee Pudding - all were excellent & very tasty. Great value for money & a warm & friendly place. Highly recommend eating here.
