Valiant Soldier Inn — Restaurant in England

Such rude service. Up your game, Valiant. Looking for a family lunch on a Sunday. Phoned in advance to check they weren’t just serving roast dinners, was told they’re serving other things too.

Saw on their website food is served until 13:45 so we rushed there, arriving at 13:35 and already chosen our food from looking online on the journey.

Was told by an extremely grumpy server we need ‘to be really quick’ then, when we said we weren’t having roasts and had phoned to check that was ok, she stomped to the kitchen, told the chef ‘guess what, they don’t want roasts!’ Chef sarcastically replied ‘shocker!’. All right next to us, my teenagers were mortified.

Unsurprisingly we left, telling them it’s clearly too much hassle, as the server continued to rant about us at the chef at full volume less 6 feet from us.

The White horse in Washford was welcoming and lovely with a garden menu so highly recommend there instead until the Valiant...

This is an absolutely fantastic local pub! The food is great, the staff are friendly, the service quick and the food comes out hot - not to mention tasty!

We took our friends there for dinner and to play skittles, we were a large group so we ordered our food before we got there. When we arrived we got to our table and literally had only been there 5 mins which gave us time to order and receive our drinks and then our food was brought out. Totally awesome!

They are also fair on the prices.

My room was a lovely twin with en-suite Bathroom, tv, tea and coffee too. Renovated a few years ago. Full English breakfast was also included in the price. Mike and all his staff were really friendly and helpful. My Bectended family were staying nearby and we all ate there. The menu and the specials offered a great variety of meals. The food was very good as was the service. The restaurant was full and I would definitely stay there and eat there again. Thank you for making my stay...
